How To Make An Outdoor Coffee Table

How To Make An Outdoor Coffee Table – I wanted to share today about the coffee table we made for our back porch.

I didn’t write the rules for it (honestly, I just put things together without knowing if it would work) so this isn’t a tutorial. But, you can easily make your own when you see how it’s put together.

We need a new coffee table, but the reason I built this table is because of this guy.

See, he was a few months ago (a boy at the time) in a chair with bones. Look at the folds of the dog’s skin!

A loving archer. He likes to sit on them when he covers them with mud. He likes to throw like toys. He likes to chew on his ugly bones as he sits on them, covering them with mud. They are disgusting. I’m sure I could keep them in the garage and take them out when we want to sit outside, but really, who wants to do that.

Thus, the coffee table that doubles as a pillow holder was born. 90% of the time the mask is placed on the table.

I made a tall corner table so that I could store items that were out of Archer’s reach, easily pull out when he wasn’t using them, and when needed. I chose the side-opening X series because I didn’t want spiders or other bad guys making a home in a closed box.

I made the table according to the size of my kush so it would fit well. For the main thing I use 2 × 2. The rectangular pieces are cut to the length I want and then eight sections (four on the top, four on the bottom) are attached to the corner. I used a pocket hole jig to join the side panels.

The X pieces are made up of one long 2 × 2 and two short 2 × 2. I don’t use any special tricks to measure the angles, I just place the 2×2 on the outside of the head and mark the angles on the inside. and a pencil. Since they are purely decorative and do not provide any support, they are simply attached and hung in one place. Note: I filled my nail holes with wood filler and sanded them down before applying the weather treatment. The filling didn’t heal and now the filling sticks out like a sore thumb. If I could do it over again, I would have left the nail holes unfilled.

At the top I use a 1×6 spacer to fit the table top, attaching two 1×2s with glue and screws. Later, its top and base are connected by three rings.

I use two L brackets on the other side when the top is closed. I used them with a 1×2 held together at the top so it would stay in place when closed.

To give it a crazy look, I covered it with a wool and vinegar mixture that I found here. I’ve left it alone for a few weeks without any plugs but I noticed that the wood was darkening in the sun (I noticed that when I removed the two lights that were sitting on it. .) I then sanded it to highlight the color and added Thompson’s Water Apply a clear coat of coat. So far I haven’t noticed any color change. The image below is best in color.

I wish I could remember how much we spent to build this thing. I mean it didn’t come to $100. I’m happy with how it turned out and it’s a total win for the price of my inspiration piece 😉 What more does everyone want when you’re enjoying the outdoors with friends and family? I bet you mentioned a lot of places to have wine and food. Well, I have the perfect solution for you. Today I’m sharing a new DIY project, a Bellemade outdoor coffee table with a hidden rectangular table!

It looks like a normal outdoor coffee table, but reach under the table, pull out the small rectangular table and quadruple the space for drinks and burgers! Side tables can be placed next to chairs or wherever you need them, and can be stored neatly under the coffee table when the party is over. Talk about a multitasker!

Before I share the details about the Bellemade Outdoor Coffee Table, I’m excited to share that Build Something and Craig Jig are sponsoring this project! Make Something is Craig’s DIY project planning website. In addition to working with him on this project, he helped me in my pocket with over 300 holes that I had to dig for this project. The shiny new Kreg K5 pocket hole jig they sent me made quick work of drilling all those pocket holes!

As I said, this project requires a lot of pocket holes to be dug. One of the many things I love about the Kreg K5 is the convenient “work station”. Once set up, positioning the workpiece allows you to insert your workpiece into the jig and pocket hole in the same spot every time.

I installed the workstation and tested the setup on a test piece. Once I’m happy with the hole, I can press the pocket hole in the same spot for each page, every time. What a time saver! New to Craig Jig? Check out 9 Pocket Square Mistakes You Don’t Want to Make.

Now back to today’s project. My friend Linda’s birthday is coming up soon and I want a present. And not just any gift. I want to add last year’s gift. Last year I designed and built an outdoor garden cabinet. Cut the plants to prevent damage where the flowers grow without neighboring trees.

The garden cabinet completely changed the look of his spaces, but something was missing in the space. She wants a piece of outdoor furniture where she can place drinks, snacks, or perhaps a citronella candle. It needs an outdoor coffee table!

It won’t just be an outdoor coffee table. As I did with the work bench, trash can, and outdoor coffee table, the outdoor coffee table will be an interesting item filled with multiple functions. The design will begin with a special surface.

The Perfect Outdoor Coffee Table

Anyone can use more space for drinks and food while entertaining friends and family, right? But who has access to a bunch of small tables scattered around their deck or patio? The function of the Bellemade outdoor coffee table comes in the form of a hidden rectangular table.

We use regular crates from big box stores that measure 9 1/2″ x 18″ x 12 1/2. First, put them back into groups of four. Crates will fit on a 19″ x 36″ plywood base. You can cut it yourself or have a hardware store cut it for you. We use 3/4″-thick plywood.

You first need to paint everything with paint, which in our case is an aqua exterior paint and primer combo. Apply paint and primer to each of the four boxes (Photo 1) and the back and front of the plywood base (Photo 2) to seal the wood as it is on the outside. Allow time to dry completely before proceeding to the next step.

After the paint is dry to the touch, place face plywood on top of the curtain, then place a strip on each side. Secure the fasteners to the plywood using wood screws.

To secure the frame and wheels, rotate the plywood base so the wheels are on the ground. Now you are ready to put the box inside
