We try to keep the cost of materials as low as possible and keep the project simple, so we can all collect presents under the tree. Many projects will use waste wood.

Read all plans and all comments before starting this project. It’s also a good idea to check out the Getting Started section. Take all necessary precautions to build safely and wisely. Work on a clean surface, free of defects or debris. Always use straight boards. Check the box for each step. Drill holes before attaching with screws. Use nail glue for a stronger hold. For stained projects, wipe off excess glue on unstable wood, as dry glue does not stain. Be careful, have fun and ask for help if you need it. Good luck!
First, mark the positions of the bolts on the 21″ long 1x2s. Drill the holes for your bolts, take the 1×2 board and build your frame. The frame is assembled and glued, screws, bags – it’s up to you. Optional, premium plywood to hold everything in place. will help
Next, make your two legs and make matching holes for the bolts at the top of the legs.

Note: Jaime recommends taping the bottom corner at 15 degrees so the table stays upright when open –
Glue and nail on top of smooth plywood or other materials. Add handles and personalize as desired! PS – don’t forget the cute bow!
Fill all holes with wood filler and let dry. Use additional wood cover if needed. When the wood filler is completely dry, sand the project with 120 grit in the direction of the wood grain. The project collects debris from empty graves. Remove the remaining sand. Clean the project with a damp cloth.

Since I only bought one board for this project, I decided to splurge and pick up some rough black wood from a local lumber yard. It’s a little over $40, I know, but hey. That’s it
First, I cut all my pieces from an 8 foot board. A cutting pattern plan is included.
For the top I joined the two panels using biscuit clamps. You may notice that the two panels are not the same width. I shortened one of the boards a bit because I wanted it to be 13″ wide, not the 14- 1/2″ width written in the plan.

If you don’t have a biscuit maker, that’s fine. Biscuits only help in fitness. You can also use wood glue when joining long grain to long grain. You just need to make sure all the parts fit, then glue and attach the components.
After the glue dried, I attached the apron to form a sheet. I used biscuit wire again, but the baggie combination would work well here too.
Then I fixed the leg. I rotated the top leg and cut the butt at a 15º angle and attached the socket head cap with screws.

You will need to drill a hole large enough to fit the diaphragm. I used a forsterner bit because I like how neat and clean the cut is, but any smaller size will work here too. A small lime can tear a little so I have no chance of ruining those beautiful black walnuts.
Oh, I forgot to say: to make this basket table easier to handle, I used a jigsaw to cut a curved piece on the side to act as a ‘handle’.
