I am installing a ceiling fan in our kitchen and we need 1 switch for the fan (pre-installed fan control switch) and 2 switches for the lights (1 3 pin dimmer, 1 3 pin power switch). I couldn’t find any wiring diagram for such a setup, so I drew one:

I want to add a remote transmitter to my ceiling fan and matching wall switch. When I removed the switch (dual slider fan/light) I had five wires in the transmission. There is a blue wire that powers the light. The orange wire that controls the fan. There are two black (fabric threads twisted together); One of them is hot, and the other is not – and ground. The new switch has only two black and ground. (The circuit breaker is wired like this: Black from the circuit breaker to both black fabrics. Red from the circuit breaker to blue.
