How To Build A Square Table – This table is easy to build and can easily be upgraded in any way you want! Keep it simple and make a table out of a sheet of plywood, or get fancy and use a set of boards and end pressure. You can replace the wood with cedar fence or prefab redwood (4×4 posts and fence boards) and with a little elbow grease in the sand department you can create a very unique outdoor dining table. Get creative or keep it simple, either way we can't wait to see it!

Diy Outdoor Table With Free Plans • Craving Some Creativity

Before you start building, always check my site to make sure you have the updated plans, sometimes I update and change the plans to make the building process easier or buy tools and provide less cost! If you are new to building, read the Getting Started section and other articles in the BUILD section of my site menu, there is valuable information on how to get started, tools and techniques. If you're new to the finishing process, check out my Finishing School for tips and tricks on painting like a pro and some finishing exercises. Use glue to secure your parts and paint or stain the parts before assembly. This makes paint application almost flawless. Spray on Poly or Wipe on Poly to protect and extend your garment and part. Comply with all safety standards and guidelines and ensure you follow safety protocol during your construction. If you're not sure if you're building safely, do a quick internet search for the tool or technique you're using, or contact me via email or forum post before proceeding. Cut the leg pieces. “Sandwich” two legs together. Secure with glue and 2-1/2-inch wood screws. This set of two legs creates a table leg.

Cut off the top. Using a 3/4-inch Kreg bit, drill pocket holes in the locations shown. Attach the top to the legs as shown with glue and 1-1/4″ pocket screws. If desired, use edging tape over the plywood holes.

Cut short and long apron pieces. Using a 1-1/2-inch Kreg jig, punch pocket holes in both ends and bottom edge of each apron. The bibs rise 1-1/2 inches from the outer edge. Attach the lugs to the legs and top as shown with glue and 2-1/2-inch pocket screws.

Long story short, he wanted to make a square home table but didn't feel comfortable changing the existing plans himself, so he asked me for help and I happily obliged.

Very nice build and finish, isn't it?! Thanks to Amy and Anna's permission, I'm excited to share the plans for this square country table with you today.

Step 1: Cut and cut the legs of the 4×4. To cut the expansion joint as shown, set your circular saw to a blade depth of 1 1/2 inches. Make the top and bottom cuts first, then cut every 1/4 inch with the saw. Use the chisel to remove the remaining material and clean up the space. If you can, practice on a piece of wood first.

Separate the side ropes as shown in the picture, then insert them into the legs. Use 3-inch wood screws and wood glue. Cover the screw heads against the sink and use wooden branches to hide them. Make both ends.

Step 3: Punch 1 ½ inch pocket holes in the apron as shown. Attach to the legs with 2 ½-inch self-tapping screws and glue.

Step 4: Construct the frame by drilling 1 ½” pocket holes in the two remaining aprons and attaching them to the legs with 2 ½” pocket screws and glue.

Step 5: Attach the stretcher with 3-inch wood screws. You may want to turn them and use wooden dowels to cover the screw heads.

Step 6: Add table supports. Drill 1 ½” pocket holes in the 2x4s and attach to the log with 2 ½” hole screws and glue.

Step 7: Build the table top. Punch 1 ½-inch pocket holes side by side about 6-8 inches apart. Secure the pieces as they are assembled with 2 ½-inch self-tapping screws. Measure and cut the boards to fit and fasten them with 2 ½-inch self-tapping screws.

Step 8: Attach the top by driving 2 ½-inch self-tapping screws through the apron and supports. There will be an extra 5 ½ inches on all sides. Note that the ends of the breadboard are at the same end of the stretcher bars. I made this table for a friend of mine who wanted a rustic kitchen table. He wanted a square table with 4×4 legs. Since I didn't have clips, I used pocket holes and wood glue for the table. Also, I only have a 7 1/4 saw, which meant the 4x4s were too thick to cut. That's why I cut off my legs
