One way is to buy the equipment from Limbo Imports. The main thing to remember is that, for safety purposes, the device must be able to bear “human weight”. Most big box stores (Home Depot, Lowes, etc.) carry this device, but the packaging says it’s not for human weight. Finding all the necessary equipment is problematic. Step Seven: Place the canvas on a large sheet of cardboard and draw the image on one side. Let it dry, then paint on the other side (if desired). If you’re using a printed fabric, make sure it’s an upholstery or outdoor fabric.

Step Eight: Tie a knot on one end of the 16-foot piece of rope, leaving the tail about 3 inches long. Melt the ends so it doesn’t fall apart. Thread it through the outer hole of the oak dowel and extend it from the wide corner on one side of the canvas seat to the narrow corner at the top.

Then tie a knot about 3 feet from the first knot and through the oak dowel. Pull the thread through the hole 4 inches from the other end and measure 3′ from the free end and tie a loose knot.

Pull it out of the second canvas bag and back through the last hole before tying a 3″ end knot. If the sides are uneven, adjust the knot before tightening.

Step Nine: Find the center of the rope above the dowel and tie a knot about 8-10 inches deep. Add your spring links, then your quick links, and finally hang it on a hook that screws securely into a ceiling beam or large tree branch.
