5. The final step to match my table is to apply 6 coats of polyurethane and hand sand with 220 grit sandpaper between each coat and not the last coat.

Hair follicles come in different sizes and colors. That said, it was hard to choose between the two heights and colors. I chose to choose the larger size first and then the next size up. But the color I want to have fun with is that my daughter might decide to use it as a nice coffee table at home. I used a neutral color for the hair legs.

The first step was to make sure I had enough wood to build a table of the size I wanted… 72″ long x 30″ wide. It may sound cliché, but I’ve been obsessed with short tables lately. I call it the size of a community table because it’s more conversational and comfortable. Plus, it’s great because it doesn’t take up too much space even in rooms with a small footprint, and there’s plenty of space and room to move around. This is it. So help us start the new trend of community tables!

I had enough wood so I checked the wood…it was reused and I wanted to make sure all the nails and screws were removed before sending it to the tools. , I could look at it and pick out a nice feature or feature of a tree that I like and put it somewhere to make it stand out. Oh, I keep the ones I don’t like…with the wood or barn wood I love to work with.

This build is very simple and a great project for beginners. If you’re using 2×8 like me, you’ll need a table to rip the main part off. Or you can use a 2x’4 for the base, drill, and pocket hole (I use and like the Kreg Foreman, but plain K4 works too), and you can complete this structure with just one saw. It would be nice anyway!

Bring the legs together. Tip: Make sure the pocket holes are from the bottom to the top. It becomes invisible when infected. Also use exterior wood glue and exterior blue pocket hole screws.

Platform gay. Tip: A piece of wood can be screwed to the platform piece and placed over the leg to act as a hand, and the pocket hole can be turned upwards so that it is not visible after assembly.

Build the platform support part. Tip: Wait to measure and cut until after the base is installed to ensure a snug fit.

Drill a large hole in the cell and attach it to the top. Tip: You can attach the top with standard 1/4 inch screws, count the holes. The holes are wider than the screws used to attach the top to the bottom to allow for seasonal wood movement.

Attach the top plate to the bottom. Tip: Use 1/4 inch pieces of woven wire to keep the space between each board consistent. This gap also allows for drainage (if it rains) and allows each board to stretch.

If necessary, finish your table with sand. Tip: If the table is going to be used outside, use outdoor furniture.
