Born and raised in Pennsylvania and Virginia, Charlotte grew up bookish and editorial-minded, but was first drawn to a publishing career in college. She then worked in publishing in Philadelphia until moving to Boston to earn her master’s degree in children’s literature from Simmons. Before joining Prospect Agency, she was an associate editor at Page Street Kids for over two years, where she acquired and wrote over two dozen picture books and developed relationships with authors, illustrators, entrepreneurs and other publishers.

As an entrepreneur, he loves working with top talent and building relationships with the writers and illustrators he represents and the industry experts he works with. She advises Simmons MFA students and serves on the national advisory board of the Mazza Museum, the largest collection of children’s art in the world, in Findlay, Ohio.
Interested in working with authors and illustrators of children’s books – board books through YA, but especially picture books – as well as non-fiction for adults, especially biographies and memoirs. In the case of picture books, we require an application form and a complete or fictional manuscript. Illustrators must provide a link to their URL. For middle grade essays, nonfiction, and biographical essays for young adults and adults, we ask for a cover letter, three chapters, and a brief summary.
Your cover letter should include your name, date, contact information, and a brief job description. Include only your personal information: previously published books, writing courses, etc. For previously published authors, please provide a brief overview of your work to date and your future goals.
Because we require more than just application forms, we spend a lot of time on each submission. We consider character development, story, tone, and most of all, writing. Make sure the work you submit has been edited, revised, and is in serious development. We do not accept resubmissions, modified or otherwise.
