(wow) Words Of Wonders Level 983 Answers – The Seeker is redefining sports technology with the world's first robotic quarterback that passes, throws and kicks. In this episode, Kristen Meinzer talks to Igor Karlicic and Bhargav Maganti, founders of Monarc Sports, to discuss their approach to the Seeker and what the future holds.

Whether it's singing a duet, doing handstands or playing soccer, some things are hard to do alone.

I think it's fun for non-footballers. But for our athletes, I think what they say is that it feels like a game. It makes sense to be compared to the quarterback who used to throw it.

Bhargav Maganti, who you just heard from, is one of the co-founders of Monarc together with Igor Karlicic. Together, these two engineers are changing the ball.

Through their , Monarc, they developed the Seeker, the world's first robotic quarterback that passes, pushes and pushes. Thanks to Explorer, players who historically needed a partner to play the game will now be able to do it alone. They can find replays like games in their own time.

This technology is already powering the biggest football programs in the country. And Monarc was a key part, driving the future of football.

There are many exciting things happening across the industry. The teams that will be at the top are the ones that will win in the years to come.

And this season, we're delving deeper into boundary-pushing innovations, with a greater focus on the amazing people behind them.

To kick off the season, I sat down with Bhargav Maganti and Igor Karlicic, co-founders of Monarc, the behind the world's first robotic quarterback.

I am happy to talk with you all. Now, I'm curious. Are you all pretenders? Do any of you play football?

Bhargav and I used to play different sports in high school. Barghav played tennis. I swam and played water polo. So there is an appreciation for the athletes and what they go through, but to say that we had similar experiences would be wrong.

But are you a football fan? Are you the type of person who lives with your foam thumb and shakes it up every football season?

Now we are at another point. We had the opportunity to work with various athletes from all walks of life. And now, yes. Yes. We are really fans.

Yes. So Igor and I met in 2008. We were freshmen at Northwestern University and became best friends. We both studied mechanical engineering and we both spent a lot of time working in our engineering shop.

The reason we were best friends was because we had the same passion and we were creating and making things. And we had several teachers, several classes that pushed us to try to think outside the box and treated us as entrepreneurs in a different way.

How did two engineers who were managing in the same teams, who were not football people at the time, decided to start a football-related ?

So at some point in our learning and development journey, we made a deal where we decided that one day we're going to build a — we want to build something really exciting.

So a new technology started appearing and it was really for indoor installation. And when we realized that we will have the opportunity to use technology that allows us to search more than 30 times per second, we were very impressed by this.

In the past the only thing used in most sports to track people was GPS, but when you have runners running 10 yards per second, it's not going to be fast enough to know what's going on.

So this idea is what got Igor and I interested in pursuing Monarch full-time and quitting.

Now for those of us who have never seen Seeker trying to imagine what a robotic quarterback looks like, can you explain what it looks like and what it actually does?

Oh yes. If you can imagine, five tall ‘five' robots with magazines that hold six balls. It weighs about 300 pounds plus, and is made mostly of steel and aluminum.

There is a screen attached to the lower part of the body that interacts with it. So it's spin, tilt back, spin, whatever you want. and then you have two big rings in the back above that you can throw, basically a whole section.

Right One of the important things we try to explain to our customers and our users is that we offer replay as a game. And the way we do that is we have a pager device that players can wear around their waist. And with that, we can tell where they are on the field. Right now, it's just a distance. So leave the forehead of the Seeker. But with this, you can imagine that there are several ways that our robot can interact with the athlete.

Well, that's one thing they have to be very good at, and it's hard to do well if you don't take time off from studying. To understand this, we did a longitudinal study while at the University of Iowa. We saw the third-string receiver reach up to 20 catches during the week of practice. Repeat game. And then you think about what that means for each person, their education, their opportunity to advance, not just in their career, but in their career, and it stumbles.

So in the end even for athletes who want to improve I understand that the best way to improve your skills is to keep doing your best. They can't really do it. And that's where we really got to.

It really depends, but we've seen – we have one athlete in particular, he's a high school athlete, and he gets a thousand every morning.

Oh my God. Yes. See no agent can handle it, [laughs] they will drop their shoulder and fall to the ground.

So the problem really goes both ways, right? So, as I said, there are more receiving zones and more people need to practice catching the ball than shooting zones. But at the same time, quarterbacks, must have fewer throws that they are actually throwing. Otherwise it shortens their life. So their career starts when they are in high school and early in college and how much they are throwing. You look at the NFL level, many quarterbacks now have problems with their shoulders or elbows, uh,. And they are all unlimited vaccines. So between a hundred and 150 shots per practice and that's it for them. Well, it's, you know, it's a bipartisan problem really.

So Seeker looks less like a fancy robot from a sci-fi movie, and more like a polished cousin of the Curiosity Rover on Mars. The giant 300-pound robot has an antenna that tracks a sensor that runners wear around their waist.

The receiver comes forward and then you hear an immediate click. These are the sounds of multiple balls being delivered to the receiver.

As the guys said, one of the great things about The Seeker is that it gives receivers and kickers repeatability…

The science of the long-term effects of playing football has made safety and security more important. The goal is to do its part to reduce overuse and unnecessary injuries…

They ran countless tests on the Explorer and built it nine times before it hit the market. The Seeker was not always the luxury car it is today.

Can you tell us about some of the iterations of the Seeker when it was less developed and advanced?

Blender To Unreal Engine 5

The first few days were really exciting for us. We were learning everything from scratch. So Igor and I are both engineers, but no one on the team has ever built a robotic system before. It was like that from the beginning.

We had nine iterations before the installation, and then many iterations of programming, as you can imagine. Most of the renovations we've had over the years are using a certain technology or a certain method and we realize that, you know what? There is a better way to do it.

Now first, how did you test this skill? It was just the two of you and your robot suit
