(wow) Words Of Wonders Level 2952 Answers – This vision was created as part of Black Rock City’s Cultural Orientation Project and is a guide to where we want our culture in Black Rock City to be over the next five to ten years. It addresses our current challenges, sets a course for the future and suggests repositioning and other approaches over time.

As the wilderness event evolved and our culture gained more attention and attention in mainstream society, questions and concerns arose about the size of the camps, relative inclusion or exclusivity, interactive requirements, and the placement process. How will the camps continue to grow and change? Where are we on the turnkey, plug and play or easy camping? What course are we planning for the next five to ten years?

We needed a vision to answer these questions and guide the entire Black Rock City community into the future. We wanted a clear and efficient vision that would guide us without being too firm. We wanted a vision that would inspire us as individuals, leaders, citizens and team members. We wanted a vision that came from the wisdom of our community, not from the minds of a select few.

After months of hard work and community feedback, we’re excited to share this vision with you. This vision sets the cultural direction of Black Rock City residences for the next five to ten years.

Over the past nine months, you, the global Burning Man community, have shared your concerns, experiences, hopes and ideas with the Culture Orientation Team. This group of 19 Black Rock City citizens, which also includes camp leaders, staff, community members, regional liaisons and board members, digested a tremendous amount of community feedback and co-wrote the vision. We heard a lot in surveys, interviews, community chats, online comments and live input. For more information on the feedback process and community engagement, see the attachment at the end.

This scene addresses many of the cultural challenges we face living in Black Rock City. The subject of the scene is the city itself – where we live, the culture of the camps and how we, as individuals and as camps, affect the city. We are talking about all camps and camps – theme camps, villages, open camps, camp camps, conversion camps, arts support camps, departmental camps, staff camps and work support camps.

We wrote the scene from the point of view of “we” and “us” not just from the mind of the person who wrote it. What we envision comes from donations from our community. It is everyone’s responsibility to make this vision a reality. “We” means all of us.

We also wrote the scene in the present tense. Some of the written things are still not happening…what we want to be true. where are we going. Read this with futuristic glasses.

For example, one of the main cultural issues we heard was about plug-and-play or convenience camps. Vision shares where we would like to be on this issue in the future. In the next phase of this project, the implementation team will focus on this issue to determine the right approach for the future and confirm the standards we use to evaluate the camps according to this vision. Burning Man will not make the vision a reality just by embedding it within the organization. It will take all of us as individuals and as a team to make this happen. We hope you will actively guide the culture of this city we all love so much and continue to grow positively into the future.

When Larry Harvey wrote the 10 Principles in 2004, they were a description of the community’s ethos and culture that developed organically from the event’s inception. The feedback we received on this vision statement pointed to 10 principles that are fundamental to who we are as individuals and in the groups we call our communities. Today, the 10 principles remain the guiding light of Burning Man ethics, and this philosophy complements them.

Culture is our collective life experience. It’s not something you do, it’s something you do. When we create, contribute and participate in Black Rock City, it inspires others to do the same. When approaching Black Rock City as a consumer or spectator, it discourages others from contributing and devalues ​​the experience. The cultural success of Burning Man and Black Rock City will always depend on our community embracing our shared cultural values.

As citizens of Black Rock City, we embody personal responsibility – we don’t expect things to be done for us (the culture of convenience) or dictated to us (taking responsibility for our culture). A truly radical deductible cannot be transferred, especially not by financial means.

Black Rock City is an inclusive community. We contribute to the creation of a safe space for mutual expression that does not tolerate sexual harassment and assault.

We understand the need for immediacy. Black Rock City is a unique opportunity to get away from the devices and tools that shape our daily lives. We look at how our default habits in the world distract us from being in Black Rock City and actively work to practice ways of being together. We understand that our actions, even the smallest, can undermine or strengthen our culture.

We know who we are, what we do, and we take responsibility for our story. We protect our culture from exploitation and prevent the commercialization of ourselves, our expression, and our community. We act as cultural ambassadors and guides to those seeking our community.

We recognize that our community is collaborative and not based on transactional exchanges between consumers. We contribute through donations of all sizes, shapes and types. The entire city is a gift created by a collective whole, which is only possible with the participation of all citizens.
