(wow) Words Of Wonders Level 1643 Answers – It’s Villains vs. Other Villains: Suicide Squad! Batwoman and Batman have sent Red Hood, Artemis and Bizarro to Amanda Waller. Can the team escape one of the most secure prisons in the world? Will they have a brain bomb before the end of the day? Can an ax hit a hammer? ? ? Find answers to these and other questions in Red Hood and the Outlaws #16.

I presented my thoughts on the direction of this arc last month, so I won’t do a full recap here. Simply put I like to keep the character roster small. We went from a terrible problem two months ago to a stupid confrontation with the team we have now. I do not automatically tell the sharpshooter to interact with other noteworthy characters, but I like Lobdell save this crossover another arc. That way, we can have a moving story of Bizarro doing everything he can to make an impact before he returns. As a bonus, the crossover with the Squad could have a “normal” Bizarro, which I think would be more interesting.

Anyway, personal preference for direction aside, RHATO #16 is another interesting issue with the book. The previous part of Bizarro felt like the first issue of the series, when Jason and Artemis

Walking in, Artemis playfully insulted Jason. There are many here, and I welcome them again. Watching Artemis and Harley interact was a lot of fun, and I would have gotten more than I bargained for.

Soybeans and Gandini develop in the usual way. The level of detail applied to both is astonishing – in the examination room, the corridor, or the various elements of Waller’s study. Soy’s layout also has a lot of solid storylines. Check out the interesting content on these two pages:

In the first example, all the characters lead us to Bizarro with their gaze, feet, hands, guns and gestures. After we see the big man, his gaze takes us to the front panel – but also his legs, arms, guns, and hands. I love how this visual suggestion plays in different directions. Thanks also to Esposito for blocking Bizarro’s presence on the street. Finally, Bizarro’s head tilted in the center panel brings us to Waller, which is your page.

The next example is just as cool—maybe even cooler. After filling the first three panels with a zoom effect, soy placed a cup of tea in the center, directing the eye to the left for the next frame. Teacups have other contents, but while they are useful, they are also subtle enough not to take away from the path they are on. Esposito’s balloon placement also helps with this, from the general vicinity of the next panel. Your brain naturally wants to follow its tail to the source of the conversation, and it will point you in the right direction. When you enter the penultimate panel, Bizarro’s chest projector sends you straight to the right. But what I mean is that it doesn’t just work in the sense that your eyes fall in the right place. This also works because when your eyes follow the lines suggested by the projector, they reach the actual projection. Awesome stuff. As a bonus, look again at the two panels above – the first Bizarro “projected” from his brain. I like the visual symmetry – even if the top and bottom of the page are slightly off-axis.

Although the visuals are great, this is where the dialogue starts to lose me. Overall, I’m more impressed by Lobdell’s writing on this title than what he’s done at DC before. But once in a while, he would use precious words in a harsh way to interrupt the conversation. Bizarro said this a lot, as if he suddenly had a lot of vocabulary that he wanted to know. It may not help too much from the dialogue at the end of B as a blunt exposition of the villain Lobdell I have never liked before, but even put it aside, it is almost not as good to read as the first part of the book .

Also, a word about credit. I like lighthearted fun as much as the next person, but stupid credits just don’t work for me. Both are cheap adjectives. Also do not like the hashtag theme. But – I really like the Bat-twitter logo. Very good.

There’s still a lot of fun to be had here. This is not a matter of my favorite series, but at least half of my rating comes from my own liking for the story. You can read this and like it more. As always, your mileage may vary!

Haven’t been able to find much heart in Red Hood lately, but it’s fun. This artwork is still choreographed and finished, and most of the dialogue is a joy to read. I hope the fun times will return, but in the meantime, Red Hood and the Sharpshooter # 16 is good entertainment.
