Gloria Nhambiu 11/09/2021 Untitled Every year, Hallmark Television offers more than a month of Christmas movies during the summer, including July. The did this to present its updated Christmas decorations. In mid-October, Christmas movies will start again, ushering in the holiday season. A Christmas movie in the middle of October, wow! This is before Halloween. But I find myself watching some old favorites over and over again. I wonder how many people do the same. I'm sure there must be more viewers, otherwise the network wouldn't be doing it year after year. In the past two years, I have noticed that in addition to traditional white families, there are black, Asian, and Jewish families, with some interracial marriages or partners within each group. Hallmark seems to be keeping up with the times. These movies are healthy, so if I can't sleep or my eyes aren't ready for the morning news, I watch Hallmark movies.

Ann von Dehsen 30/11/2021 Santa's Secret This year my 7-year-old grandson Max has serious doubts about the existence of Santa Claus. Back in October, he asked me about the actual postal service at the North Pole and the possibility that Santa would actually receive his letter. Apparently, he tested his idea by simply writing a letter to Santa 5x: na Santa, North Pole, and dropping it in the corner of the post office. Last week, he came downstairs after playing in his room and told his mother: “I don't think Santa Claus is real – I looked at my toys and games and they all say ‘Made in China'.” At the time of writing At the time, he didn't really ask his parents if Santa Claus was real, but I'm sure he's doing his own undercover work. His mother, my daughter Kerry, was very open about Santa in the second grade. This was asked on one of the most stressful days of my life. That day was the day of moving to the big house. The big storm that was predicted turned into a big snow storm, my husband at the time was in the hospital with kidney stones, the movers were 5 hours late, and they were drunk as they were on the cold, now dark road. a hill in the forest. With the help of my brother-in-law and his wife, we removed the essentials and assembled the bed. Finally, I was able to put the kids to bed and just collapsed on my bed when Kerry came down the hall to announce, “I don't think there's a Santa, I want you to tell me the truth now.” So, I did, then I cried, thinking maybe I should talk about it more. But Kerry was fine, saying, “Thank you! I knew,” she laughed. Then he climbed into my bed and we slept together. My daughter Rachel's sons are 5 and 2. They are all Christmas. However, last year, 5-year-old Paul lost his confidence for a while. Couldn't visit Santa in person due to COVID, but Macy's offered 1-1 Zoom visits with Santa and 2 elves, so Rachel arranged a visit. Paul was quiet, but he finally told Santa and the elves that he wanted a cement truck. After the trip, she turned to her mother and said, “I don't think those boys are real.” Rachel assured him that they were real, then suggested that they might look different on the computer. Paul seems to have forgotten about it, but on Christmas morning, the first toy he opens is a cement mixer truck, and he gleefully shouts, “They're real, those guys are real!” Rachel's sister Rachel tells her the Tooth Fairy. it's not true, and Rachel finds out that Santa is there. My future mathematician/mathematician daughter used her powers of subtraction to see that there is no Santa Claus or Easter bunny. He quickly recovered when we assured him that yes, there were more gifts. As for me, my super smart friends in first grade told me there was no Santa, and if I still believed that, I was a child. But even today, I still believe in the magic of Santa, as evidenced by the chills and smiles I felt when Santa arrived at the end of the Macy's Thanksgiving display. I'm sure he's the real Santa Claus.

Frances Bryce 12/17/2020 You missed the season I wrote about the weather in California and Philadelphia. When I lived in California, I miss and love the sunshine, I didn't miss the gray clouds, but after a while I found that I really missed the changing of the seasons and the snow we had. I miss the seasons and the changing trees and leaves in my yard, everything is so beautiful. But when we got snow in Philadelphia, it was like magic. Before the ice was melted and people started walking, the world was full of beauty, and the ice was hard and hard to remove. Snow reminds me of how I celebrate with family and friends at Thanksgiving, just like I do at Christmas. I made it for Thanksgiving and used pictures of my kids as guests and placed them on the tables around me. I made half of the dinner and bought the other half, but what I did was put together everything we usually eat for Thanksgiving. Covid stays at home. I also received an invitation from my nephew to have dinner with them but I was not feeling well so I said I will stay at home, I received another invitation and it went well. I got phone calls from friends and family that I don't miss as much because I spend so much time at home. I dress, eat and eat, and enjoy many holiday things. So I'm going to do the same thing for Christmas to make part of the meal, I'm buying a turkey breast, I'm going to make stuffing and garnishes, and I'm going to put pictures of my kids on the table and as my guests.

Norman Cain 01/02/2020 Love Anxiety – Holiday Stories Updated A few weeks ago, I wrote a story in the heart of the park about the struggles and joys people experience during the holidays. However, on this particular holiday, I thought maybe I was harsh and took a different stance. So there are at least 10 or 12 jobs I have to do during the holidays. The first work is in this room with W.E.B. The Dubois group meets every Friday and we have a pamphlet about it on the board. It was a big deal because there were 13 of us. Tablecloths, cocktail glasses for non-alcoholic drinks and food, such as gourmet. That's why it started. Then, as a line dancer, I did two line dance events, one on City Line Avenue and one at the Carousel House on 41st Street and Parkside Avenue. The dance class I attended in Southwest Philly on Monday night had a big party with lots of giveaways. Then there's the annual Senior Holiday Gala at the Marriott in Central City. We have up to 600 people coming. Live band, dancing, and your chance to meet people you haven't seen in a while. It was at this facility, 509, that I attended Christmas and New Year events. Then I participated in a romance with Cecil B Moore on Martin Luther King Jr. Center on the 22nd. Then I went to West Philly High School for Kwanzaa on Saturday. Sometimes these things overlap, so I had to miss a lesson in the Best Day class in the middle of the park. Like I said, my vacation started with the Dubois event in the room we're in right now and ended last night, Sunday, in West Philly, and I've had family gatherings every New Year's Day since before I was born, I'm 77 years old every year. I remember when I was a kid, and now that I'm the oldest there, we have a chance to go back and talk about our experiences in South Philly and here. At first I thought I would have a new perspective on the holidays. It's not just a romantic holiday angst, but it is. I
