On this day, we honor and celebrate our citizens with various festivals and events held across the country. Instead of setting aside a day (or month) to celebrate Indigenous people, the government should take the time to do more and do better for First Nations. While I know we can’t turn back time and what’s been done can’t be undone, I think we can take some real steps to undo everything we hear from the media world. The reason: When I was researching to write this post, most of the sites that came up in my Google search were Canadian government propaganda sites promoting programs designed to be truth, truth and reconciliation and many small things about why. There is still work to be done or what has already been done.
