I know the appropriate reference for COVID is “COVID-19”. In this post I have chosen to use the shorter reference (Figure 3) unless it is shown in an exhibit created with software developed by someone else.

[1] Recent data show that the COVID vaccines do not actually prevent a person from contracting the virus that causes COVID and infecting others. The CDC recently changed its guidelines to reflect the fact that vaccines often reduce the chance of serious illness. Vaccines are still recommended by the CDC because they can reduce health care costs, not because they reduce transmission.

Figure 1. Number of US vaccine doses administered to different age groups, based on data from the CDC database.

Figure 1 shows that the main first push for vaccine distribution peaked around April 2021. The rollout was largely completed in July 2021. This was followed by a second, lower peak between November 2021 and January 2022, mainly associated with promoters.

Not A Fan Of Padukone Or Bollywood But This Is A New Low For Smeggo.

Figure 2 shows newly reported cases of COVID from the first round of COVID vaccinations, based on data submitted to the Johns Hopkins University database.

Obviously, the first round of vaccines did not end new cases of COVID. In fact, the CDC began to worry about transmission among those vaccinated in July 2021. At that time, he began to recommend that everyone wear a mask in conditions that indicate high infectious diseases. He also started using the term sudden infection to describe the (hopefully rare) case of contracting COVID after vaccination.

In fact, when the Delta wave begins in the fall of 2021, at least part of the problem can be blamed on the less-vaccinated southern part of the United States. The well in the northeast looked much better (Figure 3).

The Old Curiosity Shop, Week 2

Figure 3 shows a very different situation occurring as the Omicron option approaches early 2022. The highly vaccinated Northeast clearly led in terms of time and number of cases of COVID per capita. The South, which was relatively less vaccinated, had a much lower population and was close to the Midwest in terms of incidence.

The Omicron variant is very different from the original Wuhan version of the virus. This difference between virus variants is, at least in part, the inability of current mRNA vaccines to prevent Omicron virus infection. Instead, current vaccines often reduce severe symptoms. This is very similar to the explanation we hear every year during the flu shot. Researchers predict which tribes will arrive in the coming year. The level of protection will change depending on whether the researchers’ predictions are correct next year.

There are indications elsewhere (and in theory) that vaccination is not a good practice when the virus is already widespread. Booster vaccinations performed in November and December 2021 (Figure 1) may have accidentally updated the vaccination site.
