Therefore, reflection is often the first step to gaining awareness, because you may not be aware of it right now.

It's like when you can be a little bit aware, when you're dreaming, like journaling about it can be really useful, useful or just talking about it with people and thinking about what happened.

These are people who turn their passion for sports into careers, and maybe we can reconnect for that.

But for today I just wanted to give, like, a short interview about when and why you started playing.

I learned that there is more volleyball in the summer than volleyball camps.

So when I was 16 or 17, I got involved in the local adult community and started playing some of those tournaments, like triple grass and fourteeners.

I had to sneak in a year of beach volleyball in college and play at the University of North Florida.

And then I finished my master's degree from there and I had to do an internship at the university.

And I got a position at the University of South Florida, which brought me to Tampa.

And then when I moved to Tampa, I found Kristin Bath, Megan Wallins, Cher Harris, Raquel Pereira, Lima.

So I started training with all the vets like OGS and that got me into it.

But my family is in Michigan, so far away that I'm definitely torn from finishing my master's and all that.

Yes, that's right. When I said that's when I started playing in the NBL and I actually started making money in the NBL and playing like local tournaments in Florida than internships.

Like, I was an academic advisor for the athletic department at the University of South Florida, but I was an intern at that level.

So I was earning something every hour and I would like to earn more money from tournaments and training.

I think you're one of the few people who can quit my part-time job and say I'm more into volleyball.

I mean, living in Florida, honestly, that's what made it possible because the races are every weekend in Florida.

I've been playing finals pretty consistently so I'm making $200-$500 per weekend just like in tournaments.

Like, I was pretty new to the beach game at the time, so I feel like I have a lot of games.

In fact, I'd play the entire tournament on Saturday, and then I'd play the entire tournament on Sunday, and now I'm almost twelve games deep into veteran status.

I remember training at this USA Performance camp and one of the coaches, because I don't really do juniors, and they looked at the girls and said, okay, raise your hand.

I forget what we're talking about but raise your hand if you've played over 50 tournaments and everyone's hands are up and I looked at the guy next to me I'm going you said 15 right? And he goes, no.

And it was six months because it was autumn and they were talking about summer.

Raise your hand if you've played 50+ tournaments this summer and these guys are doing exactly what you've been doing, where they can hit 50 in a few months this summer.

How is that even possible in the summer? I said, hey, well, now the juniors, they have competitions on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday in the summer.

I played with so many people that year and I really learned, I think I just learned how to win, you know, and I learned a lot of different types of volleyball.

I've learned a lot about myself that will help me play against teams like that because I know what it's like.

So I feel like it gave me a lot of perspective on the game, playing with different people.

And it didn't hurt that because of Florida I was only paying about $400 a month.

Can we open up something about researching different types of players? Because I think there's two schools of thought, and one of them is, hey, learn how to connect with your partner and work things out with them instead of the typical, I guess, American professional mentality of something in beach volleyball. there is nothing wrong with my partner.

Instead of standing for four or five years in college or any other team in discomfort and saying this is my family, this is their amazing thing.

Do you think there is more value in playing with more people or is there more value in staying with a companion and trying to figure out how to solve this annoying problem?

Well, I've done both, so I think there's a point in your career where you have to stick with a partner to really make a top 5 team, because qualifying for the Olympics, that's it.

You have to get along with your partner, but I think when you can and when you're younger and still understand the game, I think there's more value in playing with different people, but it's also necessary. A lot of maturity to play with one person for a long time, because it turns into a really intense relationship.

So you have to be able to communicate, you have to have difficult conversations, go through ups and downs with somebody.

So I definitely think there's value in both, but I think you can get to the top either way.

But I think I really like the lessons I've learned so far playing situations with different people with different needs.

I feel like the more I play with different people, the more I understand who my opponents are.

Mitchell's Wwe Raw Results & Report! (6/27/22)

It's not necessarily that my partner was an opponent, but I'm more aware of how different people are and how they react differently to different situations or what they need on stage or, for example, their choice of attack or what they can do defensively because of their athleticism, ability , size, maturity, age, anything.
