I fully understand what Springer meant. She tried to tell us that God won our battles, healed our wounds, saved us and restored our faith. Springer was the inspiration for this song. I understand it is from Psalm 68:21 where God talks about taking back the heads of my enemies. But how do you know it’s about God? Perhaps it can be rationalized that all the references to praise and worship, salvation, faith and the word “Lord” at the end of the song are enough. However, this could be clearer.

“You saved me” lacks clarity. What did you save me from? What? If we are going to worship God for salvation, all we can do is explain why.
Finally, Springer’s unfortunate combination of “you saved me” and “so good your way” suggests that there may be other ways to be saved, and that God’s way is better. Perhaps the line “Your way is so high” would be a better substitute. .
Let’s assume “you” refers to God for maximum earning potential. Since the word “main” is mentioned in the last line, we do not apply any penalty to this assumption.
Lines 1-4: The final enemy is death (1 Corinthians 15:26-28). Springer’s battle against death was overcome by Christ and brought him victory (1 Corinthians 15:54-57).

Lines 7 and 8: This is poorly worded, but probably an exaggeration on my part. God is love (1 John 4:8) and God is Springer’s defense (Ruth 2:12, 2 Samuel 22:3-4, Psalm 3:3, Psalm 5:11, Psalm 18:30, Psalm 27:1 , Psalm 32:7, Psalm 34:22, Psalm 41:2, Psalm 46:1, Psalm 57:1, Psalm 59:1, Psalm 61:3, Psalm 91:1-16, Psalm 118:8, Psalm 121 :7 -8, Psalm 138:7, Proverbs 18:10, Proverbs 30:5, Nahum 1:7, 2 Thessalonians 3:3, 1 John 5:18). It can be said that God’s love drives God to defense. But love alone will do nothing.
Lines 1-4: Possibly a reference to Exodus 14:14, where God commanded the Israelites to remain silent while fighting their Egyptian enemies. However, this is context specific. We cannot simply praise and worship God and expect Him to always deliver us from our enemies. According to Matthew 10:22, we will be a hated people because of Jesus. Expect external persecution (Matthew 10:16-25).
Line 1: What did you save me from? When Springer sings about loss, Bridge answers this somewhat, but not as clearly as, say, John 3:16-21. What is missing from Springer’s message is that we are saved from eternal ruin to eternal life with God.
Line 3: Right, God is Springer’s defense (Ruth 2:12, 2 Samuel 22:3-4, Psalm 3:3, Psalm 5:11, Psalm 18:30, Psalm 27:1, Psalm 32:7, Psalm 34:22, Psalm 41:2, Psalm 46:1, Psalm 57:1, Psalm 59:1, Psalm 61:3, Psalm 91:1-16, Psalm 118:8, Psalm 121:7-8, Psalm 138: 7, Proverbs 18:10, Proverbs 30:5, Nahum 1:7, 2 Thessalonians 3:3, 1 John 5:18).

Lines 1-5: God works to mend broken hearts (see Psalm 147:3, Isaiah 54:1-17, Matthew 11:28-30, and 2 Corinthians 12:9)
I honestly don’t know. There is not much here for an unbeliever to conclude that this is a Christian song. It may have been sung in church. But outside the church? In fact, there are church words like hallelujah, saved, praise, worship, bow and the Lord. This might lead you to believe that the song is about some kind of healing messiah. But it could be much clearer.
Springer intends to glorify God, and I can give him credit for that, but as I said before, his execution has a lot of work to do. I give half credit.
It’s a mixed bag. It contains some biblically accurate lines and an excellent overall message, but its execution is unclear and contains problematic passages. I am thankful that there are those who listen and feel a spiritual blessing. Glory to God that he uses it to bless others. However, you can find better songs to achieve the same goal.
