History and sales figures could prove me wrong, but personally I think the Nikon Z5 makes perfect sense, not the Z50. And it might just be the most exciting entry-level full-frame camera ever made.
I criticized the Nikon Z50 when it launched because I didn't recognize the company as an Instagram-friendly camera. Instead, I found a very nice enthusiast-friendly system camera with some open lens options. The Z5 is very similar to the full-frame Z50, but the crowd means its higher price and a change in sensor size.
Visually, the Z5 resembles a Z6/Z50 hybrid, with the normal mode button from the Z50 grafted onto the Z6's top panel LCD screen. You could describe it as a full-on Z50 or a slightly more streamlined Z6 and you'd be right.
It uses an older front-illuminated CMOS sensor, which means it can't quite match its big brother in terms of image quality, but outside of low light the differences are likely to be negligible.

With its scale and mode, the Z5 feels like a hybrid of the Z50 and Z6.
