The story takes the protagonist, Alice, to Hollywood during World War II, where she tries to solve the grisly murder of her beautiful sister and famous actress Clara. Alice has more names than her. Roommates, potential lovers, rivals and crazy fans. While it seems easy to see the killer, this book hides a lot of plot and I, as a reader, didn't know who it was until the very last moment. But I love mystery books and you don't know who the real bad guy is until the end – and that's the case with this book. Each chapter made the story more interesting and the mystery grew as the main character tried to find out who killed her sister. The story is short, but it still contains all the important information you need and everything is organized in the book. Alice was the main protagonist. I loved the fire in her and admired how far of her she was willing to go to fight for her sisterly rights. If only I had the courage of her. I also liked her relationship with Jack, a good cop who helps her in every investigation. It was a nice “side” story, watching them build this beautiful relationship. I remember Sophie's main goal for this book was to make the people who read it happy and I have to say she did.
