How To Install An Electrical Outlet From A Light Fixture
To install a 110 volt/120 volt outlet you need 3 wires, green or bare copper is ground, white is neutral, usually black or red is the hot (live) wire (my hot in this case is the pink wire). At home, you will use Romex wire, which you can find at hardware stores. You’ll usually find 14/2, which means the hot/neutral wire gauge is 14 awg and goes to a bare ground. This type of wire is durable. The wires I used in my farm are 14 awg strands, which means the wires fit into a smaller wire. Stranded is easy to use in production environments like farms.

Using the wire stripper, strip the insulation from the end of the 14 awg wire about 1/2″ away, exposing the bare copper wire.
If you are using bare wire, it is easy to fit the connector to the bare wire. Slide the connector into the exposed part of your phone and use the crimp socket to securely clamp the connector to the phone. Gently pull on the connector to make sure it is firmly seated. Repeat for each strand.
Loosen the green ground screw and connect the green spade to the green bank. Tighten the screw with a screwdriver.

Note: if you use solid copper wire, make a small loop in the wire, wrap it with screw threads and tighten the screw.
Loosen the top silver screw and connect the middle wire to one of the silver screws. In a standard 110/120 volt outlet, the neutral wire is attached to a long hole. Tighten the screw with a screwdriver.
If this jack is the last jack on your phone, you will only use the first set of screws. If you continue to another location, use a different set of screws for the wires going to the next outlet.
Then loosen the gold screw and connect the hot wire to the gold wire (the short side of the axe). Tighten the screw with a screwdriver.
Wiring A Duplex Receptacle
Now we connect the outlet to the line box and screw in the two set screws that come with the outlet. When you put your wires in the box, make sure the bare ground doesn’t touch the HOT circuit, it will cut your power and trip the breaker when you turn it on.
Attach the outlet cover. We are ready to try. Flip the switch and you’re done.
