First you need to build the sides of the coffee table. So make 2×4 log posts and 2×2 log aprons. You will need to use a pocket hole system to hold the parts together. For professional results, place the part on a flat surface.
Then you need to attach the back and rear aprons made from 2×4 lumber. To attach the apron to the legs, drill holes for the pockets and insert 2 1/2” screws. Use a carpenter’s square to make sure the corners are correct.
Also make the apron level with the hands. Additionally, before driving the screws into the wood, prime the side of the table for a professional finish.

The next step in this project was to install the shelf below the coffee table. Cut the 2×6 slats to size (make sure the slats are 5 1/4” wide) and snap them in place. Drill pilot holes and insert 2 1/2″ screws into the wood. Add wood glue to the edges of the slats before screwing them into place.
Use a spirit level to make sure the bar is perfectly level. Wipe off excess glue with a cloth before it dries.
Installing a countertop is an easy process if you use the right planning and techniques. Attach the slats with 2 1/2″ wood screws and add glue to strengthen the bond. Then center the table top on the frame and secure with screws through the apron.

Last but not the least, you need to take care of the final adjustment. Therefore, you need to fill the hole with a good wood filler and let the mixture dry well for a few hours. Then sand the surface with 120-grit sandpaper and wipe the dust with a dry cloth.
