Drop fabric comes in smaller sizes, so if you’re making fewer chairs you won’t need such a large piece, but I like having a little extra fabric to salvage if needed.

Easy Tips To Create Unique Chair Covers By Yourself

Pre-wash the fabric and iron if necessary. Spread the fabric over the chair and use sharp scissors to cut a section on each side of the seat and back of the chair. Be sure to leave a few inches of extra space when cutting these pieces so there is plenty of fabric to work with.

Once you have a long piece of fabric, fold one end under 1/4 inch (Figure 3) and again 1/2 inch and sew along the seam. Tip: To make the edge even sharper, iron the seams and pin them together before sewing.
