It seems that solar powered lights are not that difficult to make. I will show you how I did mine step by step with pictures and videos.

Note: I have optimized this 12V solar lighting system to run the light for 1-2 hours. You can copy it as is or change the sizes of the different parts according to your energy needs.
You can install the solar panel on the roof, the floor, the window or outside the fence wall.

I mounted the battery on the 2×4 and then attached the charge controller and fuse to the fence wall with wood screws. (I put them all close together to limit the amount of yarn I use.)

Next, I connected the switch and a 12V DC extension cord to the LED light using the wires on the nails.
I mounted the battery on the 2×4, mounted the charge controller and fuse on the wall with a wooden bracket, and attached the light switch and 12V DC extension cord to the wall with nail wire.
Finally, I installed the LED lights. Here I attached the bundled lights to the wooden beams of the fence.
Note: These strip lights have an adhesive backing. If you can, I recommend you just put them on top of your bin, it’s a very easy way to install them. I would have leaked my father and it would have been a good place.

The light set I purchased was designed to be installed into an exterior wall. Since we are using DC instead of AC, all we have to do is remove the wall adapter and add some connectors.
Connect the wall adapter from the LED lights and disconnect the cable ends. Reduce the red heat pipe to a good wire for future use. Then connect the connector to the correct connection on the fuse block. (I used a size 22-16.)
Tip: If you bought the same LED light fixture as I did, you can identify the positive and negative wires by looking at their markings. The negative lead has a much smaller sign, and the positive lead has a write.
I was able to easily identify the positive and negative wires of my LEDs by looking closely at the wire insulation. The negative lead has much smaller marks and the positive lead has a note.

Note: I connected the battery to the solar charge controller with a fuse block because only one wire can be connected to the battery terminal. The battery is usually connected directly to the charge controller with a direct fuse in the battery positive cable.
Connect the solar panel to the solar charge controller. The charge controller should indicate that the panel is connected correctly.
At this point, you can configure the charge controller according to the battery you are using. I use a sealed lead acid battery, so I chose this option. See your controller’s manual for how to program it. (It usually takes 30 seconds.)

Connect the plus and minus wires of the lights to the plus and minus terminals of the fuse block. Insert the correct size fuse into the bulb fuse. (I used a 5 amp fuse for the wiring.)
I know it looks like there are a lot of wires going to and from the fuse block, so here’s a close up of the wires:
Turn on the lights and the lights should be on. My work is very good and very clear for my father’s district.

LED lights are the best alternative to solar energy systems because of their energy efficiency. So I chose some 12V LEDs that consume up to 18W when using peak brightness.
I knew I wanted to use lead acid batteries to keep costs down. I also needed enough battery to keep the flashlight running for 1-2 hours.

With these things in mind, I settled on a 12V 7Ah SLA battery with a paper capacity of 84Wh (12V * 7Ah = 84Wh).
However, I knew that a lead acid battery has a capacity of 50%, so the battery can produce 42Wh of energy (84Wh * 50% = 42Wh.)
No battery is perfectly discharged, and discharge rate and temperature also affect battery capacity. I made this cascading amp and decided that 7 amp hours is still enough for my needs.
My dad rarely uses his charger at night, so he didn’t need a panel that would charge the battery during the day. All I needed was a whiteboard to fill

I took a small 20W 12V lamp. I calculated with that solar charge timer with a 20W panel – and a PWM controller, which we’ll talk about next – that it would take 4.7 hours of peak sun to charge a 12V 7Ah lead acid battery .
This means that a 20W panel can charge the battery in about 1-2 days in the sun – fast for my purposes.
To be honest, I could have priced my panels a little lower, but I found that 20 watt panels are only a few dollars more than 10 watt panels. 20 watts was the best for my money.

The charge controller also had to be compatible with 12 V solar systems and able to handle the maximum current output of the solar panel. (A 20W 12V panel produces about 1-1.5 amps under optimal conditions.)
These are not demanding requirements, so I picked up a cheap and reliable PWM charge controller from Renogy, the Wanderer 10A. It is compatible with 12V and 24V solar systems, and is rated at 10 amps.

Three-position switches are used to connect two switches to light a lamp. This can be useful if you have two entrances in your backyard or anywhere else where you need two keys. They can work with two switches because both switches always have power even if one switch is off.
