When the glue has dried on each side of the 6, I make the top. If you have a planer, you can sand each, but if not, a belt sander or orbital sander will work just fine. . Again, I joined the two panels together. This gives me a large board 18″ wide and 48″ long, with 12 large 2x2s. Again, if you don’t want to use 2×2 here, you can go with a different size here, as long as it’s 18 inches wide. . After the glue dried on the board, I cut out two shelves using a circular saw on the AccuCut (or a straight edge will work too!). Link: Check out how to use AccuCut in this post! . If yours is large, you can use a jig or miter saw here. . I cut about 1 cm off one end so I could get a good fit. Use a square to make sure you cut at 90 degrees. Next, I measured from the smooth edge and cut two 21 inch pieces to make the top and bottom boards. Sand thoroughly to remove any glue, and if necessary, proceed with paint/dirt as required. I paint the colony of these minnows. Step 2: Assemble the Final Frame These are also 2x2s. Since they are painted, I put them together. Once it was assembled, I screwed in the holes. . However, if you want to expand and don’t want to see screw heads or hinges, you can use a cap or pocket hole instead. . I cut 2 × 2 pieces and built two frames as shown using wood glue and 2 ½ “wood screws at all joints. Note: Do not forget to practice before riding! Step 3: To give a small end table Do N’ DIY by drilling pilot holes in the corners, I used these black wood screws to attach the top and bottom protectors to the corners. But changes in temperature and humidity have the force causes the top and bottom to expand and contract, causing separation.. So to prevent this, I drilled a pilot hole in the corner to give the bolt some “wiggle room” to move as it important. . I marked these places on the frame and used a small drill to drill holes in each place. Drilling is important here because the surface and shelves can be separated with these large screws. . It is also important to assemble these pieces into a square. If you have some corner pieces or fasteners, trim them when you assemble them or check for squareness after each turn. You don’t want to end up with a table top or “spur” end Step 5: Finishing the End Table Once the table was assembled, I applied several coats of poly (using minoc polyacrylic) to seal and protect everything. . That’s it, that’s it! Easy DIY end table with bottom shelf. The perfect accessory for sofas, chairs or lounge chairs. You can use it as a dinner item. . The table is 18 cm long. If you want a long table, just cut the side of the middle leg off a bit, everything else remains the same.
