I was able to complete the process. To do this I use reactive weathering paints. This type of stain is a natural stain that helps the paint age with the tannins in the wood.
After the stain hardened I turned the leaves over and used a milky color called parchment paper to finish the bottom. I draw calves and skirts and legs.

Oh and if you don’t know… I have cats, um, should I throw them away? Time will tell. I love Lily, but she’s a real singer.
Finally, when both layers of paint are completely cured. I reattached the sheet and applied three more coats of Poly Matte with a micro-foam roller.

We recently turned a formal dining room into a utility room. We wanted to design a space that would include both a formal room and a playroom for our children. One of the easiest ways to achieve this was with multi-purpose furniture. We needed a large, simple dining table that could accommodate our family for holidays and other special occasions. But we want the table not to be so crowded that we have more room to play. In other words, a console table that can be turned into a full-sized dining table. The DIY Farmhouse Inverted Drop Leaf Table was just what we needed and is now one of our favorite pieces of furniture!

Many programs matched our needs. Especially with Sheets, however, I found inspiration in the table that Coldren Design created and came across the plans for the Anna White 4×4 Truss Beam table that we used as a base. With a few modifications, we build the table of your dreams. Country house style table with built-in hinges. The base has a hinged back.
Our changes include extending the length to 8.5 inches and changing the top for even more versatility. We follow the plan up to stage 4 and make a sharp right turn towards us! That’s what we’re going to focus on today, let’s get started!

Double Drop Leaf River Table With Metal Legs River Dining
First we create the base of the table. We extended the length and reduced the width to 8.5′ long and 22′ wide in the middle.
I bought all the wood for the base from Home Depot. After cutting use 100 to 220 grit sandpaper to clean all parts.
We made the table base according to the instructions for step 2. Instead of connecting the 3 3/4 inch side panels, we pushed them up to the edge of the base. Angle the folded sides to a stable surface.

We painted the table base the same way as this console table. Then a dark coat to “age” the texture and add dimension. If you have never used varnish you can use a semi clear finish that you brush and wipe off. By allowing the color or texture to sink into the groove it was before I removed the excess. The coating I use also has a top coat. It saves a lot of time!
On each side we added 3 10/16″ x 1 1/2″ slots along the outside guides, starting 8″ from each end. Then every 17 1/4 inches there are a total of five grooves on each side.
To support the folding side of the table we made 10 removable brackets from 9″ long 2x4s after cutting them. We sanded each part and glued it to the groove. Make sure the bracket slides in and out smoothly.

For the studs – we didn’t want the mounting bracket to come loose – we screwed a 2.5″ 2″x1/4″ poplar into one end of each mounting bracket. Leave the screw loose enough to allow the stop to turn.
So we build the table. The upper part consists of three parts. The middle part is 22″x8.5″ and the two side parts are 11″x8.5. We attached the board using holes and screws in the middle part. But because the bottom part is visible when the table is in terminal position. So we used biscuit fasteners to connect the craft board to two ends. And we Also use this pocket compartment that will be filled later for extra support.
To add character we “ripened” different parts of the table using different tools and hammers. Large nails, screws, circular saw blades leave an impression on the wood
