1. Make and cut circles. Starting with your insert fabric, cut two circles with a 170-inch circumference. I wrapped my fabric over it enough to make 2 cuts at a time.
The easiest way to measure is a 27″ diameter circle. Cut the thread about 40 inches long and tie one end to a pin or straight needle. This will be your focus.
Tie the other end to a piece of chalk or fabric pencil, making the string 27 inches long from end to end. Find the closest center of the face on the fabric where you will draw your circle and hold the end of the pointer in place. Stretch the string until it is tight, then use chalk to draw a perfect circle. Cut out both circles.

2. Measure and cut out the rectangle. From each piece of fabric, measure and cut two rectangles 87″ wide and 32″ wide.
3. Sew one side of the rectangle together. By right-stitching and joining the two rectangles together on the short side (32″), you will now have a long rectangle that is 32″ x 170+” wide. Do this on any type of fabric.

4. Pin the circle to the rectangle and sew in place. Along the right side, snap a circle from the long side of the rectangle. Sew in place with a 1/4-1/2-inch seam allowance (depending on your fabric/sewing machine. Heavier fabrics should have larger seams, but if you have a 1/4-inch seam it will be tight enough).
Sew the last short end of the rectangle (right sides together) after you’ve attached it to the first circle to make sure everything lines up properly.
5. Enter the PIN and sew the zipper and seam under *. With the right side together, snap the second circle under the rectangle, leaving room for the length of the zipper. Glue the zipper in place. (I have a zipper tutorial here in steps 6-12 of my t-shirt pillow tutorial).

Adding a zipper to the insert is optional. You can leave 2-3 meters open to fill the foam, then sew it closed.
6. Enter the FORM. It is in your best interest to carefully follow my next guide! Insert the foam pack into the syringe before opening it and expel the air. It will expand like crazy and the foam has a lot of staying power so it sticks to everything. Once installed, close and sew! (Or take it out when you zip up yours!)
7. Put on the cover. This is where you’ll be glad you found mondo-big-o-zip. Once installed, zoom in and you’re done!

Once you have attached all of your oval pieces, you will have one stitch left, leaving the pillow open. Bind this stitch together and start sewing as you did in the previous stitch. However, this time you are probably halfway back and cut your cord. Then continue sewing (joining again) about 18″ down, leaving an opening to turn the pillow right side out.
Put your pillow! This is an easy step, but since the project is so big, it will take longer than you think. I used about 7 pounds of polyfill and may add a little more!
