Diy Bean Bag Chairs: How To Refill A Bean Bag & Bring It Back To Life In 5 Easy Steps!
1. Measure and cut out the circles. Starting with the fabric insert, cut two circles approximately 170 inches in diameter. I folded the fabric over it enough to cut 2 together.
The easiest way to measure is through the radius of the circle, which is 27″. Cut a piece of wire about 40 inches long and tie one end to a pen or straight pin.
Tie one end of a piece of chalk or fabric pencil, making a straight line 27 inches long from the knot to the end. Find the closest spot on the fabric where you will draw the circle, and hold the end of the spindle in place. Pull the string tight, and use chalk to draw a perfect circle. Cut two small circles.

If you have a friend who can hold the shaft in place, make a simple drawing.
2. MEASURES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
3. SEW A MADE OF RECTANGLES. With right sides together, sew the two rectangles to the short side (32″). You will now have a long rectangle, 32″ wide x 170+” long. each type of fabric.

4. Pinch a circle to help stitch the area. With right sides together, press a circle into the long side of the rectangle. Sew in place with a 1/4-1/2 inch seam allowance (depending on the fabric/sewing machine. Heavy fabrics will need a larger seam allowance, but if you have a serger, 1/4 inch will be plenty).
Sew the short ends of the last rectangle (right sides together) after you’ve attached the first circle to make sure it all goes together.
5. PIN & STITCH Zip and DIRECT SEW*. With right sides together, press the second circle under the rectangle, leaving room for the length of the zipper. Put the zipper in place. (I have a zipper tutorial here for steps 6-12 of the Pillow T-Shirt Tutorial).

* Adding a zip to the installation is optional. You can leave an opening of 2-3 feet to fill the insert with foam, then sew it closed.
6. Fill the insert with foam. It is in your best interest to follow the following tips carefully! Place the foam pack INSIDE the fixture before opening and exposing it to air. It will expand like crazy, and the foam is super static-electric, so it sticks to everything. Once the filling is complete, close the flap, and sew! (Or zip it if you make your own zip!)
7. INSTALL ARTICLE first. This is where you’ll be glad you have the mondo-big-o zip. After installation, zip it, and you’re done!
