I bought a stove 3 years ago and it exploded because the stove had a 3-wire plug and the wall outlet was 4-wire. New furnace is 3 wire, need to change wall from 4 wire to 3 wire. My question is what on earth am I doing? Above is an old wagon. The new van is below.
You must follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions. And place the 4-pin power cord on the range. You should not convert a 4 pin receptacle to a 3 pin.
As @JPhi1618 pointed out, your 4-pin receiver is not wired correctly. The bare ground wire should go to the green screw terminal and the white “neutral” wire to the silver screw terminal.
As @JPhi1618 pointed out, if the cable does not have a ground conductor, it powers the cable. You will have to solve this problem separately.

I don’t know what the wire gauge is. However, many manufacturers will quote a minimum bend radius. No matter where you are in the world, you can follow that code.
