I first re-marked the pencil lines with a Dremel which removed most of the paint so I could see the lines easily when using the angle grinder.
I then switch to the angle grinder and start cutting my horizontal and vertical lines – usually taking it easy, stopping often to check my cuts. I was planning to use a dremel to cut the curved lines because the radius was too tight, but after starting this I decided to go back to the angle grinder.

To cut the radius I took a light cut around the curve and increased the depth of the cut until I was done. Then I switched to the Dremel and finished it off with a small cut off disc.
Once I cut I put the two pieces next to each other and they look the same. I then sanded the edges with sandpaper to remove most of the roughness!
I started by cutting a small circle of 18mm diameter plywood measured from the barrel and used my router table and straightedge to cut the circle. I followed that up by cutting some leftover foam from an old mattress that I had saved just for this model. It was too thick so I cut it in half on my band saw, which worked fine, so I used the band saw to make the foam. Next, I added curves to the edges to soften the impression.

I then took a large piece of leather (the same leather I’ve used for boxes over the years) and stretched it across the back and secured it in place with -many staples.
I figured I’d keep the exterior green so I just need to paint the interior. There will be a ‘shelf’ underneath so I thought this part would look dark inside, so I painted the top a bright yellow. I ended up doing four or five rounds.
