How To Make A Round Quilted Table Topper – This delightful nine-sided Stardrop tablecloth is designed using Electric Quilt EQ8 quilt design software. This tutorial takes that design and gives you the information to do it yourself. This is a very simple mini patch blanket for beginners, but it is useful to know some of the basics of paper. You will assemble eight units to combine to create this little blanket. I made it in light green and light green cotton with a lovely monochrome background. I only recommend products that I use personally. Thank you! I love decorations for the holidays. I do not care which one… I just love the spirit! It is easy to find various items for mantel, windows, doors and tables. However, I struggled to find a festive table for my round kitchen table that appealed to me.
Many are too long for a 48-inch table, causing them to pull up a chair. They usually cut a decent length, but when the wire overflows on my desk edge, its effect is lost. Each center point I added will cover the center of the guide, leaving a cross-sectional design between the center point and the edge of the table.
My solution? Cross table! Unlike traditional tablecloths, we designed this tablecloth to have a non-intersecting centerpiece. Instead, it is designed to accommodate any central part. Add a bouquet of flowers, a plate of fruit or whatever you like.
Free Table Topper Patterns
The design is diverse enough that if you are not a “center” person, you can just create another star block and place it in the center. I opted for green and red fabrics for a lighter Christmas color palette, but this design will be able to accommodate many festive color combinations. Large square blocks in the center of the square and smaller star blocks are perfect for design elements in the new edition to emphasize the season. Imagine those stars with cute pumpkins inside or even snowmen, bras or patriotic flags!
The project proceeded quickly, especially because it used a splitting technique that reduced the cutting and waste of the material. I used diagonal markers to speed up the process. It allows me to mark two sewing lines on the diagonal of a square, so I get two half-triangles from each set of squares. It also improves accuracy because you do not have to cut triangles with curved edges to hold the stars together.
Tip: When drawing lines on a piece of fabric, place it on a clean sheet of fine sandpaper. As you drag the pencil along the edge of the marker, the sandpaper will hold the material in place so that it does not wrinkle or lose its shape. If you need to draw a line on the other side of the seam, you can just rotate the sandpaper so you do not have to be a consolidator.

Due to the unusual shape of the project, I floated on the fabric and back when it was time to sew it. I used the electronic steering wheel lock on the mill to make sure it was straight, directing the machine along the rough edges and adjusting the position of the blanket if necessary. .
When I was satisfied that it was square, I moved the machine to the fabric and reattached the locks, which were suitable for clear sealing around the upper perimeter. This allows me to add extra seams at the star tips where several seams are sewn together so that they do not come apart while driving. (I know I should do all the external stitching, but I admit I may have missed a thing or two. Proper stitching is an extra guarantee. 😊)
Disappearing 9 Patch Table Topper Tutorial
I’m a person who likes defined lines created by canals. I outline each patch in the stockinette stitch before sewing it into a square. For this technique, I prefer lines with long arms no more than 3 inches wide. It holds my finger or little finger against the edge of the line – it acts as a “brake” to hold the line in place. Sew at the seams. Then I don’t have to press the line. Instead, it is just a guide. (Be sure to use additional bases with lines per machine – choose one that fits your machine type.)
I sew patterns from blocks using the free patterns available in the Quilt Path computer system. The program allows you to use the corners of the actual block to place each design precisely and even extend the design to the edge of the block. However, I want the design to float in the negative space. The quick push button customization allows me to automatically reduce the model size by 1/8 “at a time while maintaining Its actual placement.
This countertop has an inner corner, which recognizes that it is harder to work with than the outer corner. We have included instructions in the free sample to help you with these issues. It took me about an hour to start shooting and taking pictures on the street. This attention has not been sewn yet, but I think in about an hour I will be able to sew and sew it.
Sew the panels in one set, then press all the seams in one direction. It does not matter where they go, they must go in the same direction. Tip: Make sure the seam is fully open.

Place the line on the fabric and align it 60 degrees with the first seam on the fabric. Make sure the bottom of the line is on the fabric before cutting. Cut the fabric to the left of the line as shown below. Make sure the line does not move when you cut. The first cut is very important.
OK, now move the line and align it 60 degrees with the cut part of the fabric as shown below. See how I create a 60 degree triangle? OK, now cut the fabric on the right side of the line as shown below.
Now instead of rotating your fabric, turn your line and align it 60 degrees along the cutting edge of the fabric as shown below. Again, you will make a cut on the right side of the line as shown below. You will continue to do this by alternating the lines forward until you reach the end of the harvest. You should have 6 triangular pieces.

If you follow the instructions you should have 6 triangles. By cutting the right side 3 up and 3 facing down, you will notice that we have two different sets of triangles. Replace them for your layout as shown below.
We will split it into two groups and sew it together as shown below. All seams will be pressed open.
Take one triangle and place the right corner on the other triangle. Now this is the hard part. Because I trampled them all.
