Any paper or cardboard is suitable for patterning. I chose a large piece of cardboard because it was sturdy and would fit in the curved seat of the chair.
To make my pattern symmetrical, I cut the pillowcase in half, flipped it over, and repeated.

Time to cut materials. Place the pattern pieces. Think carefully before you cut. Pay attention to the direction of the pattern or stripes, they will go in the direction you want and connect well with the other side of the pillow.
Prepare the connection first. With right sides together, fold each tie piece in half lengthwise. Sew along the length of the tie and seal one end, leaving the other open.
Turn the tie right side out and press. If necessary, remove each corner to make it square. At the open end, press the seam allowance down and press down. Finish both ends of the top seam.

If it’s not long enough, you can sew several strips together by pinching and sewing each end right sides together. If possible, try to create seams on the back of the pillow. After sewing, remove the seam.
Then, right sides together, sew the top pillowcase to the top edge of the side panel, next to the pillowcase. Sew both ends of the side panel to close at the back.
Pin the center of each link to the back corners of the pillow. Sew the tie to the pillow using a vertical seam line. Sew again to reinforce.

With right sides together, sew the top of the back fabric strip to the bottom of the pillow between the seams. Fasten the seams at both ends at the back. The tail of the backing tape should be long enough to fit inside the pillow and hide the foam insert.
After sewing, open the seam. Tuck the two ends into the center of the lid. This is temporary so they will not be stitched in the next step.
Now sew the bottom panel to the side panel, but this time don’t sew between the seams. Be sure to backstitch each stitch to secure the ends. Most importantly, these areas must be strong, as the foam mattress is under a lot of stress during installation.

Time to blow out a new pillowcase. Transfer to an ironing board if possible. Press as many stitches as possible. This will give the coating an excellent finished quality. Use a sewing needle or rolled up socks to press the corners. As clean as possible. 😁
From the back, press the raw edge of the side panel down a quarter inch so that the raw edge is not visible.
Next, it’s time to cut the foam pad to size. It’s super easy and actually fun!

I bought my fabrics from Joann Fabrics. I paid about nine bucks for the foam pad with the coupon. Airtex 2″ x 15″ x 17″ was perfect for Pottery Barn kitchen bar stools. I can always reuse the inserts and take them back until I own the stools.
Place the patterned portion of the pillow top directly onto the foam pillow. Trace the perimeter of the template onto the foam with a Sharpie marker.
It should also be noted that this will not destroy the electric knife. You can reuse the food knife.

Time to put the snails in the lid. Divide the foam into two pieces, then smooth it out by carefully tucking the foam into each corner, smoothing out any bumps as you go. Work with it until it fills the lid well.
My only advice is to breathe deeply. It takes a little finesse and a lot of patience. You can do it!

There are several ways to cover a dog’s rear. What you choose is entirely up to you.
Since the background is usually invisible, you can do the easiest thing for you. If you plan to wash the cover, choose a zipper that is easy to open, close and remove.
