You will need 19 clothespins for the chair. If you want to make a rocker, you will need five more pins.

Then start assembling the parts. I started later. Heat the three parts separately and then glue them together. Now assemble one part of the seat. Glue the pieces together with hot glue. It should look like this. Easy to follow picture then try to explain.
Repeat the process for the other side of the seat. Make sure you are facing the first part to glue the pieces in the same place. You don’t want a crooked chair… or at least I don’t think you do. Now it’s time to back it up. Make both sides of the chair parallel. Take half a pin and glue the big end to one side, then the bottom to the opposite side. It’s easy to start with one side of the seat, then glue the other side. Now it’s meeting time. With the back, it sits well on its own. Do the same with the clothespins, setting aside a large end and replacing it with the back of the chair.

I found mine at Goodwill for 27 cents. Always check thrift stores first – they are cheaper. However, you can check your local stores to see if you can find them on sale.
Take a picture if you want. You can use it in a science project presentation. I gave Barbie a haircut and drew circles around her eyes with a pencil and put lipstick on her face. Barbie had a rough night.
I also made clothes for my Barbie using fabric lying around. This is a very simple thing that will help you make your project more attractive. I’ve included a really cool Microsoft Paint image to illustrate it!

A piece of wood less than 1/2 inch thick. Barbie needs a chair to match!
Make a paste by mixing a type of stain (preferably dark, like this walnut stain) or instant espresso with water. (I started out using stain but it wasn’t enough and I switched to espresso paste haha.)
Find something around the house to use for straps. I made some out of old CD binder handles. All I had to do was burn the ends together and ta-da!

You can try to fit your Barbie by measuring carefully or by following the measurements I took. 😀
Go ahead and cut them out – I assembled the entire chair using just glue. Take it one step at a time and you’ll be fine! I have included two images of the assembled chair for reference. (Also, try not to worry too much about how you cut. If you cut across the grain like I did, the chair will look rougher and scarier.) 🙂
Also, don’t worry about how fair and professional it looks. People will be amazed that you made the chair!

The only advice I can give here is to be careful with excess glue as the stain can get weird spots.
I started out using a small pack of gel dye but ran out of it very quickly. I mixed instant espresso powder with water to make the stain and it worked great.
And if someone asks why the scar looks so terrible, politely explain that it’s not “terrible” but “old” and “scary.”

Prepare small pieces and make them so that they do not dry out between molds!

Place plastic wrap on the back of the chair. This will prevent the paste from sticking.
