As you might have guessed, two guys and a truck will be building Barclayt this year on September 15th, and you’ll find us in the Gulch in the front yard in front of the E. Allen store and Bar Lowe’s. Like most organizations, our park will have an environmental theme… Ground cover, plants and playgrounds will be made from cardboard boxes and workplaces. And you might ask, how in the world can you make a rock solid out of a cardboard box?
Each row of rolling boxes can be divided into one corner with a tie in one corner. When you completely unpack the box, you can cut the top and side edges to adjust the size of the back seat. Our chairs are approximately 1.5 feet high, and each measure up to 5 feet long, but you can vary this length to your liking. Remember to use the corner of the box to your advantage and keep each corner balanced between the two sections of the box’s surface.
In total, you will have 8 slits that will allow the two pieces to fit together.

The last blue square should be at the end of the triangle. The left triangle must be cut from the bottom edge to the middle of the piece, and the right triangle must be cut from the top to the middle. We place blue strips about 3 inches from the edge of each carton.
You can put two blue stitches together to secure the triangle. You just made the sides of your chair!

Now you will use the red eyelet to attach the skeleton to the sides of your chair and provide stability for the person sitting in the chair. To increase the “side” comfort level, we add a few more pieces of cardboard in the middle.
You’re almost done! Now it’s time to separate the middle box, just as you did with the main box. Cut one of the four folded sections and tape it to the sides of the sofa to see what size you will need for the top section. Cut it to size so you have a square with four corners that match the four corners of your sofa (see the green icons in the photo above).
Use the orange marks in the image above to remember how you will create a box from the top and bottom edge of your chair to the corner point of the spherical chair. These screws will allow you to make a triangle to attach to the sides of the chair and to hold the top. You need to put your fold marks on the red dotted lines to complete the chair.

I looked on eBay to see if there was a keg for sale nearby and found a bottle shop 5 miles away that sold clean keg for £5 each, so I drove and bought three. All I have to do now is figure out how to make the chair.
There are many ways to cut a barrel, depending on what you like. I chose a design that would allow me to have a very high back and made two bucket seats.
I started by taking the dimensions of the barrel and drawing the “open” barrel in a CAD program. When I was drawing the cutouts, the main dimensions were determined by quality. What you have to remember is that when you add a line, say at the top left, you have to add it at the top right and the same for each side of the middle line. After a bit of tinkering, I’m happy with my last effort, so I made sure I created balance by twisting the top half and flipping it back over and over in half.
