How To Make A Table Wreath

How To Make A Table Wreath – Today, in collaboration with Sengled, I’m sharing three easy and actionable winter entertaining tips and a tutorial for creating your own table garland centerpiece! It’s hosting season, so I’m doing my best to invite visitors and make our home feel extra cozy, even if it’s just a neighbor for a few minutes to chat! When I welcome people into my home, especially during these cold winter months, I try to keep in mind to make their experience more comfortable, intimate and refreshing.

This is guests’ first impression of your home, so take some time to focus on this area. Make room in the wardrobe for guest coats and winter accessories. Hang a pine wreath over the wardrobe. Light a candle and place it on the side table. Simple gestures that can really set the stage for the evening when guests arrive. Be mindful of where your door takes your guests.

Our front door opens directly into our dining room, so we can set our dining table for dinner or adorn it with a simple hand-made table wreath (instructions below). However, most of our guests come through our back door, which is the first door you see as you pull into our driveway. Since our back door leads to our pantry/laundry room, this space needs to be uncluttered and inviting. Hide some boots and shoes, which tend to pile up this time of year (we currently have about 20 pairs of shoes and boots in our utility room; is it just us?).

The way the furniture is arranged adds to the entertainment and comfort of the guests! Try to set up enough seating (e.g. pull out folding chairs or use stools and stumps) so everyone can be in the same room at once (this is difficult for us because we have a small house). Add some cozy throws and blankets for guests to use if they wish. For some, these small, deliberate touches make it feel like home.

Place lamps in strategic places and make sure every corner of the room is well lit. Check that all of your lamps have working lightbulbs. We only recently started using Sengled Element bulbs and have fallen in love. We’ve been using Amazon Alexa for about two years now, and now that we have smart lightbulbs I love a smart home. Smart light bulbs are easy to install; Just screw them into the fixture like regular lightbulbs, download the app and pair it with your Alexa (or other smart home platform).

I love how our single element lights make it so easy to control the lights with my phone, “Alexa, turn on the dining room” or when I’m out of earshot. In preparation for dinner, the mood in the dining room can be subtly regulated by dimming the lighting for single use from the comfort of the living room sofa. Getting ready and decorating your home for the holidays is easier than ever with these lightbulbs!

Wendy and Jen, our family friends who grew up, always decorated their homes incredibly invitingly for Christmas. Their homes were beautiful any time of the year, but I realize they used simple, seasonal decorations in their homes to make them extra cozy during the holiday season. Wendy placed small vignettes on her counter, dining table, and bookshelves, sometimes featuring small items such as gold-sprayed plastic animals or miniature ornaments. Zen always emphasized the importance of lighting. Their lamps were always lit at a brightness appropriate to the occasion. Her house always smelled so nice and seasonal, and there were always candles burning.

Christmas decorations don’t have to be expensive or elaborate (unless you want them to be)! Simple, intentional touches spread throughout your home are enough to make it feel inviting. A simple wreath, scattered candles, a small forest of trees and maybe a homemade wreath. I’m sharing a tutorial for a homemade table garland; Perfect to keep on the table all season or to bang together just before Christmas dinner!

2. Cut small pieces of pine wood out of the wreath and fill in the gaps/spaces where you can still see the vine wreath. Simply attach the fir branches to the vine wreath. You can connect it with floral wire, but no wiring is required. If you use real pine for this wreath, you can pull out the pine at the end of the season and save the vine shape for next year.
