While cleaning our new house, Calvin brought in an air box that he wanted to install. He asked if I know how, I don’t. He said it was time to learn. As I was able to put things together and figure out how it works, I was happy to install the fan.
Since this was my absolute first time, I had to rely on the instructions and the photo guide. That wasn’t enough, so I decided to share my experience learning how to install my first pedestal fan.
How To Assemble Electric Fan Step By Step
A pedestal fan consists of four parts (according to packaging). Note that the blades are detachable. To name the four parts from left to right (1) Blades and cover (2) Support (3) Base (4) Motor. Obviously the naming convention is not a common way of naming them. Because I don’t know the names of the real parts. I will use these names when instructing how to assemble the fan.

Step 2: Take the plastic part in the drawer. Align the base with the base and screw it firmly. This step is a little difficult to do. Try to set the base and position of the stand. Sometimes, for some basic household appliances, unpacking, assembling and storing can be a very difficult task without instructions. Unfortunately, even with a textbook in front of you, some can become a headache. I have had that experience, and probably some of us here will too. Today, in the spirit of spontaneity (and of course the crazy heat of the haratta African sun) I finally decided to clean and replace the old electric pedestal fan I’ve been putting away for a long time. and let me illustrate in a few words the steps I took with the help of the pictures presented below. Let the pictures do the talking. Step 1: First, all the fan components were cleaned, sorted, and organized so we could easily see which ones to attach first. Step 2: I decided to start from the base. You can always start the motor on top of the fan if you want. The frame was bolted to the bottom and bolted in place. Make sure the base does not wobble when the frame is attached. The frame should stand at a 90° angle to the bottom of the fan. Step 3: Next, we installed the prepared base and frame and proceeded to the assembly of the electric fan assembly. Hold the motor and place it in the metal cover in the correct vertical position. There were some sockets and wrenches on my electric fan to help fit the motor. This is the control panel cover. Don’t worry, I’ll use all the screw holes except the bottom one which uses a larger screw, and I’ll explain why I did that in a bit. There, fixed, looking good. Step 7 Attach the engine cover to the back of the head by pressing it down until it clicks into place. (Some fan models may require an always-on screw) Correct. Step 8: Simply attach the connection head to the pre-made base and set aside. Make sure it’s pointing in the right direction. Remember the larger screw I used to seal the speed control panel? we use it here (below). It works by holding the frame and head together. Genius, right? 😉 Finally, attach the metal shield on the front of the blade by touching it to the metal shield on the back and taping these little pieces together to fit… Here’s a picture of the fan working properly on after serving it.
