Ant-Man and the Wasp is a great superhero/heist movie with non-stop action, tons of comedy, and even a little romance. It has the pace of a heist movie with amazing characters from the Marvel Universe. I haven't laughed so hard at a movie in a long time. And even though it's for adults, it's clean enough for my older kids to see.

Just a hint, you don't have to have seen Avengers: Infinity War before this, but if you've seen the first Ant-Man, this movie will make more sense. And watching the first Captain America Civil War will help.
When I first saw the trailer for Ant-man and the Wasp, I was excited to see the movie because I loved the first one, but I also loved the little director's chair at the end of the trailer. I had to do them. In addition, they work well in fairy gardens.
I used sandwich wood to make a small chair. You can buy a 750 box for cheap and have lots of small pieces for smaller projects. You can make a smaller seat by using a flat toothpick and cutting it in two. My seat height is about 3 1/2 inches.

Wooden sandwiches have sharp and rounded ends. I cut off both ends and used 2″ centers for most of my pieces. That way I had a straight piece of wood to work with. I used the rounded ends for the chair arms .
I used garden shears to cut the strips. You can also use wire cutters, an X-acto knife, or even scissors. This tree is very thin
I also suggest using foam mats or other surfaces where the glue doesn't stick well. I used a cutting mat, which really helped me make the chair pieces, so the chair turned out unique.

Use lots of white glue to attach the pieces. I tried using just a little glue to make it invisible, but the pieces came apart. In addition, the white school glue dries clear, so you can't see it. You can use a glue gun, but it can be very messy. Faster. I spent an entire day making the seat, gluing each piece together and then waiting for it to dry before gluing the next piece.
To create the legs of the director's chair, I drew two rectangles and then crossed them. Each rectangle is made with 2 inch sides and a 1 inch section at the top. The thin side of the 2 inch piece of wood is glued to the smooth side of the 1 inch piece of wood.
Next, glue the 7/8″ piece of wood on top of the 1″ piece, between the long pieces. It would be great if you could glue it over a 1 inch piece of wood, but I'm glad I did.

Then lay a 1 inch piece on top of the 2 inch piece near the other end. But only do it on 1 leg. Move it to the other leg, otherwise you won't be able to cross the leg. I made a mistake the first time I did this and had to remove that part.
Once you have a rectangle and almost a rectangle, attach the legs about 2/3 of the way down the rectangles. I used binder clips to let the glue dry.
For the seat and back of the director's chair, use 1 1/2-inch and 1-inch pieces of wood to form an L. Then make another L the same way.

Then attach the 3/4″ to 2/3 of the corner of the L. This is the armband.
For the “fabric” part of the seat and back, I used paper. I printed two rectangles to look like teaser seats. The seat rectangle is 1″ x 1 3/8″ and the back rectangle (with the name on it) is 5/8″ by 2″. The back is longer than the width of the seat so it can wrap around the back.
Then attach the seat to the back of the chair and fold the sides. Before I applied the glue, I pinched and folded.

For the leg rack, cut the last piece of wood slightly longer than the width of the bottom leg where it crosses. Attach it to the footrest.

I went with the Barcelona Pavilion seat size for starters. Chair design is an intense subject so I stuck to the stance and dimensions of this chair as a way to focus on experimenting with materials and construction. I also found the seat very comfortable. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
After deciding on the general parameters of the seat, I thought about the assembly. Since cardboard is strong and flexible, I see no reason to use glue or fasteners for the joints. I adjusted the seat to match the slotted joints, hoping that the friction between the parts and the semi-stiffness of the plane would hold everything in place.
