How To Make Resin Epoxy Table
Bob Clagett shared a video of this project on his website, inspired by the river table and his wife’s love of the sea. This project takes about a week to complete, factoring in setup and drying time, and took Bob 3 attempts to get it right. He shares his best tips for the cement and epoxy process in his video, and the steps are outlined here.

Cut out the melamine to create the actual shape. You will need 4 parts on the sides that determine the height and bottom part equal in length and width to your desired table size. You should position two of these pieces slightly larger than the others for a safe look.
Connect the side pieces together with the melamine base pieces and screws. Next cut a small piece of melamine to mimic the size of a table leg. Cut a piece the width of the leg and cut a smaller piece to make the difference in width on the other side. Glue the two pieces together with CA glue and then set them in place.
Finally, we close the form with each layer of silicone glue. It also seals the melamine cut edges to prevent the concrete from sticking. Apply release agent for easy removal of corner and side pieces from concrete and epoxy.

Add a few inches to one side of the form so you can pour concrete on the slope (Bob used melamine scraps). This seems to increase the depth of the sea effect.
Pour little by little, take your time, build up the concrete, and put it in the mold to make it look like a beach. Bob made the base thinner on one side and thicker on the other, then added texture to the top to give the concrete seabed a more natural look.

Run an orbital sander (no pad) along the sides of the form to remove air bubbles. Cover with plastic wrap and marinate for about 48 hours.
