I wanted a set of dining room chairs that would have a whimsical, woodsy feel. This project was very easy to do with things lying around the house, and only a few extras I had to buy 🙂

1) Cut this thread (it doesn’t have to be perfect, because each chair will be unique):

2) Wrap each piece of wire in masking tape. Rotate when you get the effect of “curling” the vine or branch.
3) Starting with two long sections (8 inches), make a curl at the top, which will form the top of the chair.
4) Wrap the longest wire (9 inches) into a square. Attach each leg (6 inch piece), using extra tape to hold them in place

7) Attach the longer piece to the seat. Make a fold on the remaining side (3.5 inches) and place it on top of the chair. You are done! (Now it’s time to rewrap the areas you want to make tighter or softer).
8) Fold the legs so that everyone sits on the ground, and your miniature chair should stand on its own!
9) Paint the chair light brown first, and after it dries, brush a layer of light dark brown on top. Be sure to clean the black color lightly. If the chair ends in one, solid color, I think it makes it look less real 🙂

11) Use green polymer clay to create a “cushion” effect to sit on the chair. I was trying to get a puffy, mossy effect on me for the fairy to sit on. It is ok to cook cardboard right with clay.
