If you don’t have one, you can always go to Ikea and grab one of these to join me in making this clock yourself. Or you may have something lying around the house like this. I’m all about recycling and restoring and we can continue with this super easy DIY wall clock.

The first thing you need to do is find the center of the area and drill a hole in it to make the metal. I used a screwdriver, but you can use anything that works. It is easy to make a hole because the fabric is not a tightly woven fiber.
Next, you want to get the body of the watch in place. I had to take the clock work from my house wall clock that I no longer needed in my house.
Now you need to reduce that part of the square by just carving the fiber. That part should be small enough for the hands of the clock to fit. Anyway, I used the screwdriver I already had around and removed the things.

To allow for a way to hang the watch, simply cut the string and tie a knot at both ends. Cut two rectangular pieces of paint strip or cardboard and hot glue the back of the piece, with the string in the middle.
Then use white acrylic paint and paint over the entire front of the leg. I say the front because I don’t paint the other side, but you can if you want to make it white in the front.
When the paint is dry, you can mark the area representing 12, 3, 6, 9 o’clock with a pencil. Use a ruler and you’re in the middle of it.

Carefully insert a 3 inch length of wire. Hot hot glue, you now. I have learned over the years how to quickly scrub hot glue off my skin in the blink of an eye. Like that!
If you can tell time with almost no clock, then you’re done with this DIY, baby. This will do it.
But I couldn’t stop the story here because I just remembered that my husband doesn’t like a watch without scratches. It would be good to tell the time without the articles, but I don’t want to complain about this DIY or you will end up in our room.

I put the hands of the clock together and turned them to the right and marked the end of the place mat with a pencil and ruler.

This problem bothered me for a while. Then I picked up a 4-pack of round natural fiber from the grocery store rack. They were still in the original package; Woven placemats are the trend at the moment and can give your table setting an eco-chic flair. The design adds a lot to the tablescape.

But the challenge is to take something old or boring and make it better, so I thought these fiber mats needed a vintage inspired decoration! If you don’t need a needle, you can tackle this easy DIY, and you’ll be proud of your new spring-to-summer racks!

Cotton yarn is the best yarn for this project. I looked at a few possibilities at the craft store (colorful yarn, yarn), but colored cotton yarn seems to be the hardest to make designs on woven fiber mats. I was delighted with the colorful selection I found. I chose feathery colors like the vintage casserole carrier.

To secure the beginning of your design, tie a bow at the back. I don’t know what should be the front or back of these woven pages, I chose the shape I wanted.
I know some of you are going to be scared right now, but to be honest it’s not surprising. If you fold a stitch or two and it doesn’t look right (which I did), just pull it out. I looked at the casserole dish for inspiration on what kind of patterns and stitches to make. It starts flowing as soon as you walk away!
Some stitch patterns are straight, some are diagonal, some are X. My flowers may seem like tulips, daffodils and lilacs, but not really. Folk version, boho version. Happiness is doing something unique and having fun doing it!

When you run out of yarn and want to start a new piece, finish by pulling your needle through the finished stitches. That will tie the knot. Then you can start with a new piece as you did before (with the knot in the back). Cut the extra wire.
