And many soldiers in my Bay Area/West Coast were experiencing a week of mandatory “home/domestic” activities out of absolute necessity but because of the heavy rain.

It seems like it’s raining forever, and the holiday is lost somewhere in those dark rain clouds.

Let’s talk about how to make a jalapeno margarita, shall we? It is very easy. No need to prepare simple syrup. It’s all about mixing, shaking and pouring.

First, combine the tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, agave nectar, and jalapeño flakes in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice. Shake vigorously. Shake for 30 seconds to really infuse the tequila. If you want more flavor, shake more. You can easily add jalapeño peppers to infuse the margarita mix for extra spice and flavor.

Squeeze a lime wedge over the margarita glass. Pour tagine salt and seasoning into a small plate, then dip the glass into it until it covers the rim. The lemon juice helps the salt and tagine mixture stick together.

While there’s always a special place of honor for the OG margarita recipe—especially this one—we can’t deny the allure of spicy margaritas! Chilled and icy, baked thick with tequila and lime juice—a salty rim, because you want it—classic margaritas are beautiful just the way they are. But add some chili and they come to life in a whole new way! For lovers of chili, hot sauce, and all things spicy, it doesn’t get much better than a spicy margarita. Pair your spicy margarita with a big bowl of salty chips and creamy guacamole, and you’ll be in full cocktail hour heaven.

The world’s best margarita recipe — and, TBH, ours is by far — only gets you so far. The quality of the drink you consume is ultimately determined by the quality of its ingredients. Fresh lemon juice is essential! No pre-compressed bullshit, right? And for this spicy margarita recipe.

So, fresh, homemade margaritas are inherently “lean” — that is, not super high in calories or anything else. We’re not sure how margaritas came to be considered high-calorie or super-high-sugar, but when they’re made right — like a store-bought mix — they’re really not skinny. Okay, let’s stop using the word “skinny” now, because, frankly, we can get the whole idea that by 2022, the cocktail we’re interested in drinking should be “skinny.” Instead we say “Ooooooooooooo fresh margaritas!” And relax and enjoy our cocktails. Balance, health and fun! And even moderately neutral. So yes, you can call this recipe “skinny” if you want, because it’s a good, classic margarita without high-fructose syrup or other unnecessary junk to begin with. Found in a store bought combination. So mix up a big batch of rims, invite your favorite people and throw a party! And let’s never talk about “skinny” drinks again, shall we? Yes. Cheers!
