If a person experiences intense surveillance because they are constantly and closely watched or told that they will screw up in some way if left alone, even as an adult, it can be difficult to escape.

Women may feel like they are being watched because women are conditioned to believe that their worth is determined by their appearance and what other people think of them. From a young age, many women are pressured to look “sexy” even at the grocery store and are constantly asked, “Are you ready for a selfie?” are exposed to such ideas and advertising campaigns. and “Every street is a fashion show.” It can make women feel like they’re constantly being scrutinized, especially in the age of social media and digital surveillance.
