So, I originally started this post a few days ago and never had a chance to finish it. Tuesday is a busy day with my son and I tossing and turning for about four hours. This was followed by concern over the health of family members. Wednesday came and I actually went to bed around 11:00pm which is early for me. I knocked but here I am Thursday morning to finish this post. Tuesday’s situation left me feeling a little weak, but it made me reflect on what I wanted to write about in the first place.
It’s always easier to thank God when things are going well for you. Enjoying those moments of peace and joy is a must. I believe God wants us to enjoy those moments because He gave them to us. When I wrote the post for the first time, I felt pretty good. Then Tuesday happened and I felt terrible. But it helps me remember that God doesn’t just want us to be grateful for the good times. God wants us to be grateful in times of bad and despair.
I always turn to Job as a reference point when I encounter difficulties. My struggles pale in comparison to hers, but her story gives us an example. Job lost everything. He lost his farm, livestock, workers and children. Imagine waking up to this news. I think we all feel hopeless and hopeless. But the Bible tells us that Job’s first reaction was to bless God.

Job did not complain or curse God. His first reaction was to praise God’s name. He knew that just as God had given him all the blessings he had enjoyed up to that point, God could take them away too. But, it’s not about the blessing, it’s about the person giving the blessing.
Think about how you want others to love you. Would you like someone to appreciate you only for what you give them, or would you rather they love you for who you are? I think we all prefer the latter. I will do it. I believe God likes it better too. God is a God of mercy and is more than willing to help His children. But He is also pleased when we thank Him and show that we love Him for who he is.
Dear God I Just Want To Thank You For Giving Me Another Day
Every day is a great time to be grateful. When we wake up, we can thank God for remembering us and giving us one more day in life. When we are ready to call it a day, we can thank Him for the provision for that day. When we find reasons to be grateful, find fewer reasons to complain. God invites us to have an attitude of gratitude. We can learn from Job. Job lost all of this, but amidst the crisis, he still believed in God and glorified Him.
