How To Stay Active While Working From Home

How To Stay Active While Working From Home – Working from home has its perks: you’ll be in your PJs without travelling, and sometimes at noon. But unfortunately, it also has disadvantages, which is one of the biggest inefficiencies.

For some of us, the physical activity we get from work and walking is the most activity we get during the day. Others who regularly go to the gym also find it difficult to go to the gym after sitting most of the day.

Try lifting your heels while brushing your teeth, pushing the table while cooking dinner, and sitting while you wait for your coffee or tea. Even light refreshments after a hard session can help you stay active in the long run.

Inexpensive exercise balls can help strengthen your core. Make sure you buy one big enough to sit on your desk. Of course you will move and/or jump while sitting on it and doing small tasks throughout the day. In addition, you will be able to do other exercises with the ball before or after work.

Weight training is great, but there are exercises that are easier than using dumbbells. If you don’t have a scale, look at your kitchen! Many exercises can be performed using everyday objects such as soup cans, milk containers or potato sacks. (Make sure you have a good grip on the object you’re using, or you may move more than intended during cleaning.)

Although it seems very simple, walking is one of the best exercises you can do. If you can get outside, fresh air is good, both physically and mentally. If you have to stay at home, walk around where you live. Try to determine the actual number that can actually be completed. Next try to complete more laps or speed up the lap.

Eight Ways To Keep Fit While Working From Home

Working from home has many benefits. You can’t count too much. You don’t have to travel, waste time in meetings, deal with annoying colleagues or buy formal work clothes. I recently wrote a blog post about homework challenges. One of the challenges I face is how to stay active while working from home, because working from home can sometimes lead to a decrease in activity levels.

If you work outside the home, you have to leave your home and go to work every day. For some, this means walking to work or the train station. Maybe you ride a bike to work. You may have worked out at the gym before or after your workout or at the gym at work.

If you move from home to work, your daily commute is shorter. You just rolled out of bed and are at your desk. You’ve lost access to the gym at your old job. And you really don’t have many excuses to go out.

You need to make conscious choices to stay healthy as you move to work from home. Here are some tips to help you.

Tips From A Health Coach To Staying Active And Healthy When Working From Home

It’s easy to skip the gym when you’re starting a new business from home or on your own. You’ll have a million things on your to-do list and feel guilty for wasting time. But if you’re sick or tired of working overtime, it won’t be good for your customers. You should schedule how you will do your work.

My number one struggle is passing each day. I have a bad habit of not leaving the house for days at a time. This is acceptable in Toronto’s winter, but spring is here and it’s time to go.

Fresh air has many health benefits. It will cheer you up and help clear your mind. It helps digestion and strengthens the immune system. Good Rest discusses these benefits in detail.

If you live somewhere with long, cold winters like I do, or don’t live near good parks or trails, you can still be active. There are many ways to exercise at home.

When I started losing weight a few years ago, I increased the amount of exercise I did. I’m not really a trainer. I feel very shy and uncomfortable to train in front of other people. So I decided to practice at home.

Setting up a small home gym can be inexpensive. All you need are dumbbells, a yoga mat and some workout DVDs.

I bought an exercise DVD to help. DVDs are the best way to push yourself without the embarrassment of sweating and breathing. My favorite workout DVD is Davina McCall’s 7 Minute Fit. It may not be long, but each 7-minute workout is so intense that you’re sure to break a sweat. (Yuk. This is the last time I talk about sweat on this blog!) If you’re not from the UK or Ireland, you might not be familiar with Davina. If you are familiar with Jillian Michaels, she also has a DVD called 10-Minute Body Transformation.

Exercising with a small set of dumbbells is a great way to tone your arms, chest and back. Start with lighter weights and increase as you get comfortable lifting heavier weights. This Amazon device is great as it has 3 different weights and storage compartments to keep it out of the way.

Since cleaning floors is not my favorite job, I also invested in a yoga mat. It is easier to use a yoga mat than to sleep on the floor. It prevents slipping and I don’t have to deal with dust!

Don’t forget to stay hydrated! Always keep a water bottle nearby. After all, you have to hydrate (not words!) what you do. 😊

Sitting for seven to eight hours a day is not good for your health. Sitting is a new cigarette! It has been linked to an increased risk of cancer, type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

One way to reduce these risks is to invest on the counter. The desk prevents you from falling asleep or shaking the keyboard and improves your posture.

This doesn’t mean you have to stand all day! Staying for a long time also affects the body.

Take regular breaks. If you have trouble remembering to take a break, take a break every hour. Get up, walk around the room for a few minutes. Drink a glass of water or take a bathroom break. You should aim for 10,000 steps a day. It’s impossible to predict how many steps you’ll take on your own, so consider investing in a Fitbit to track your steps. I know I don’t really walk 10,000 steps a day.
