Secretlab Titan Black Evo 2022 Series Honest Review
With new soft leather, the Secretalab Titan Softweave (opens in new tab) has the potential to be one of the best gaming chairs (opens in new tab) around. And by 2021, sports seats can be found almost everywhere. Almost all the major gaming brands are entering the market at this point, and even office furniture heavyweights like Herman Miller are joining the fun.
With many brands sharing the manufacturer and sticking their logos on the bucket seats of the same old model, sport seats have been somewhat lacking in innovation lately. However, Secretalab continues to push the limits with brand new designs, as we saw in their product reviews in late 2020.
When we reviewed the Secretlab Omega in 2018, it quickly became one of our favorite gaming chairs. Omega represents a new era of sport seats with refined racing aesthetics, premium materials and components. Since then, the company has launched a number of collaborations and partnerships with esports organizations, artists, gamers, and Game of Thrones. We now look at the company’s new SoftWeave fabric and titanium large seat, designed for taller people and taller than Omega recommends <5'11".
The Secretlab gaming chair is sold directly to the customer, offering a more competitive price compared to other premium brands. That being said, the Omega and Titan can still be considered expensive compared to many of the $200 cheaper chairs out there. But starting at $359 and $399 respectively, we still think it’s worth every penny, especially if you’re spending more than two hours in the chair a day.

At first glance, the Secretlab Titan could easily be confused with an Omega, and it probably would be, if it weren’t for the large “T” symbol in the middle telling you otherwise.
However, after spending more time in Titan, it became clear that this chair was a completely different animal. This is especially true if you choose their new, complex SoftWeave fabric. Titan has the same tilting mechanism and arrangement of parts as Omega, but with two key differences.
First, the Titan is equipped with a fully integrated lumbar support system, controlled by a button on the side of the seat back. This is a big improvement over Omega, which uses memory foam lumbar cushions. The built-in flexibility system provides the widest range of lumbar support without adding extra volume to the seat.
Don’t get me wrong, Secretlab’s signature active foam is comfortable, but the Titan’s flexible lumbar support makes it very competitive with ergonomic office chairs.

The second difference between Titan and Omega is the footrest. The Omega has a bucket-style seat, typical of a race seat, because the fit is crucial when running fast on the track.
The Titan changes things up with its flat legs, giving you a spacious and comfortable experience that allows you to sit cross-legged. After reviewing both Omega and Titan, it is clear that Secretlab put a lot of thought and experimentation into determining the recommended size.
Omega is recommended for gamers shorter than 5’11” and weighing less than 240lbs, while Titan is recommended for gamers 5’9″ to 6’7″ tall and weighing under 290lbs. There is even a Titan. XL is available for people 5’11”-6’10” tall and 220 to 390 lbs.
As a short person who should use Omega based on these principles, I still find the Titan extremely comfortable, although it is too large for my liking. This is certainly due to the strong cold foam, excellent tilt and recoil elements found in all Secretlab models.

With the latest product update for 2020, Secretlab introduces new PRIME 2.0 PU leather which is four times more durable than traditional PU leather. We found the original PRIME PU Leather on our Omega 2018 to be comfortable and durable, so we thought the upgrade was worth it…if we don’t like the SoftWeave fabric very much.
It may not be as resistant to spills as leather alternatives, but SoftWeave feels natural and breathable.
The SoftWeave Titan costs $30 more than the original PU Leather, but it’s worth the upgrade if you’re planning on having long gaming sessions on the couch. We found the Titan to have much better temperature control than any other leather gaming chair we’ve tested. The only real complaint we’ve found with the Titan is that one of the armor rests is about 15mm taller than the rest, and no amount of tweaking can give it balance. completely.
Overall, Secretalab Titan SoftWeave exceeded all of our expectations. And it’s not an easy feat because Omega has set it so high. Priced at $429, the chair is an expensive piece of equipment for your battle station, especially if it doesn’t give you a valuable boost to your frame rate. How To Refresh Your Gaming Chair And Make It Like New Again
I am the one who has assembled the various chairs that have been brought into the house over the past few months. In my opinion, the Secretalab OMEGA chair is the most impressive – by far. At least when it comes to installation and assembly.
The last gaming chair I put together was half the price, but was the most popular model on Amazon. It seems like a fair balance between cost and capacity, but the packaged and integrated experience of the two leaves a lot to be desired. It took too long to disassemble, and when everything was finally dismantled, a key latch was lost. Luckily, I had a few additions to my hardware collection, but it got off to a bad start. The Secretlab OMEGA comes in a heavy but (relatively) compact box. There’s no wasted space inside, but everything is packed and protected. Everything was organized and the company included the best hardware sorting and packaging toolkit I’ve seen in a long time. They also include a large, detailed instruction sheet that you can easily download and follow step-by-step.
Assembling this chair took less than half the time it originally took, and I didn’t have to scratch my head wondering if something was going wrong. Secretlab considers this an art.
Secretlab Chairs Prices Cut By Up To $250
At 5’11”, my son was on top of OMEGA, but found it tall enough. I’m 6 feet tall and very close to the recommended weight limit of 240 pounds, and I’m comfortable too. It’s all bigger, and that means increasing the company’s TITAN line at an additional cost.
This chair is covered in PU PRIME 2.0 leather with aluminum five-wheel traction. It comes with an activated foam lumbar pillow and a head pillow filled with a combination of activated foam and cooling gel. It’s comfortable, even for extended gaming sessions. The Dark Knight theme (essentially an all-black treatment with the Batman logo on the front and back for an extra $30) also seemed to look good during those zoom sessions.
As for durability, this is a new product, so I’m still guessing. I can say that the hardware and brackets are tight, and the latches are twice the size of the latches on previous gaming chairs. Everything feels very solid. The chair also comes with a 5-year warranty, which is very reassuring.
