(wow) Words Of Wonders Level 534 Answers – It’s been an intense week! I am more regular in the shows of 16.05.18 plus 10.11. Not much time for blogs during the week, so I’ll keep it short tonight. But of course you can find me on TV!

We are now in classic dark weather. High surface and subsurface sea pressure is blocking the storm. But it’s a “dirty edge,” meaning lots of clouds and little rain pouring in.

This pattern will last until Monday! I have seen this setup in the past; almost constant gray skies west of the Cascades, but some rain. Head up the Cascades, the foothills or the Coast and things get wet quickly. Check the rain forecast through Sunday. It is a very “orographic” rain pattern, meaning that almost all the rain falls in these places.

Looking to find some sunshine and dry weather this weekend? Head east from Hood River to the Gorge or central/north-central Oregon. There is no rain.

So we have a large high-level ridge off the coast and the high-level trough is deepening over central North America.

Here comes the polar express! Bitter cold air will pour into the central/eastern US east of the Rocky Mountains. This is part of the beautiful “Polar Vortex” heading south into southern Canada. Looks like he’ll be there for a long time.

The models keep the cold air fairly close to us from Monday into Tuesday. Any closer and we’d be entering a whole arctic air mass. At this point, it looks like some cold air will flow east of Washington/Oregon on Tuesday. Bring the cool east wind through the Canyon on Tuesday and beyond! We haven’t seen much of it this mild winter.

How cold Hard to say now (5-6 days out) but I think we at least have a ‘cold easterly spell’ on the way. Highs will be in the mid 40s in the metro area and lows 20-28 degrees. Add strong east wind = cold! The GFS is very cold again tonight, with temperatures of -16 degrees at 850 Mb against the eastern slopes of the Cascades and -11 above us. As we get closer to the events, it looks like it’s getting really cold, so I’m not beat about it. WRF-GFS is also very cold, which was a problem last winter. It will get hotter the closer you get.

ECMWF is probably more reasonable; cold, but not extreme for the middle of the week. This afternoon’s GEM model was a bit softer than this one.

I’m seeing low dew points in all models, that would be a refreshing change from our current wet/mild regime.

Club Penguin Times was originally designed to resemble the real-life mode, with a cover highlighting parts of the issue. Each page would have a different theme, the first would be the latest Club Penguin happenings and the last would be comics, poetry, etc.

On November 18, 2010, the newspaper was redesigned. Instead of pages, the newspaper was published on both sides of a long sheet. The front had a news feed, stories, an Ask Arctic Aunt section and then an upcoming events or gossip section. In the back was a continuation of Ask Aunt Arctic, comics or fan art, as well as jokes and secrets.

Sometimes at their respective parties or events, different characters (mainly mascots) write the headlines and appear in the Tips column.

Fair only appeared in one issue in 2014 and as a “future version” of himself for the Future Party.

The You’ve Reviewed section was changed to the Review Blog in May 2009 and the Tech News section in February 2006, as it deals with real life rather than games.

Also, after #266’s new look, the CP team removed the poetry, puzzle, and comics sections.

From issue #125 to #253, an episode called In Focus was published in Club Penguin Times. They are:

News Flash is a new section added to the newspaper after the 2010 makeover. It replaces the In Focus section. This episode explains what is happening on the island at the moment.

The old look of the newspaper had some games in the “Extra” section. The games were Dot to Dot, Puffle-So-Cute-O, Puzzle Shuffle and Word Search. The word soup contained hints of upcoming holidays.

While some comics have appeared on the Community section of the Club Penguin website, fan-made comics have been included
