The Wedding Date, The Proposal, The Wedding Party, and The Royal Party by Jasmine Guillory: (eBook and Overdrive Audiobook). I love Guillory novels! It has a diverse cast of well-rounded characters and the women have a lot of agency. They all take place in the same universe, but can be enjoyed on their own.

Merci Suárez Change Gears by Meg Medina: (Overdrive e-book) Cute high school/young adult novel about a girl dealing with changes in her family and navigating high school drama.

Sheena Wagstaff Archives

Romance Novels by Julia Quinn: (Plus eBooks and Audiobooks. Hoopla Audiobooks) Historical British romance novels that are light, fun, and lovable characters. I have nothing in common with any of the characters, they are all related to the Bridgerton family brother, but I still enjoy them.

Actress Sally J. Friedman as Herself by Jodi Blume (Overdrive eBook and Audio): She has a few well-known titles, I think, but this one is Jodi Blume’s favorite. Even though she was a young girl in the 1940s, I related a lot to Sally and her family. When I was 10 I saw Sally’s Ma Fani, “Hold on” and “God forbid” which was great for 5th grade.

Dissection of a Beautiful Woman by Marie Rene-Laboi I recommend this to those of us who feel like, hey, can I read something light and airy like lemon meringue because that’s all I can get right now. This book is sweet, light and reminds me a bit of the movies Diane Keaton is in these days. Our main character is surprised when her older husband leaves her for a younger woman. He found it very weak. He decides to change everything.

Oh, how I love my Doc Martin! Beautiful scenery, humor, funny characters, romance. Doc Martin was a surgeon in London except he has a problem: he can’t stand the sight of blood. So he takes a job in beautiful Port One, where he runs the doctor’s office and serves all the happy residents. (There are many seasons on Hoopla for your enjoyment!)

First Year Student Reflections 2021 By Avila Publications

The Floating Feldmans by Alyssa Friedland This book is so funny and made me laugh out loud. The Feldmans hold a family reunion on a cruise ship and all kinds of secrets come to light. It is light and soft and I really enjoyed it.

How Not to Die Alone by Richard Roper This book is funny and heartwarming. If you need a laugh, give it to him.

This Is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Trooper is another funny book that will make you laugh out loud. If you like Larry David’s show,

Something Blue by Emily Giffin Giffin writes with wit and passion. Our main character, Darcy, learns some life lessons and this book is like a cute and fluffy blanket with the pelvic floor.

Til Homosexuality Was Only Removed From The American Psychiatric Association’s List Of Mental Disorders In 1973.

The Helpers by Camille Perry This charming and entertaining book is very enjoyable. Low-wage girls, many of whom have college debt and can barely pay their rent, are tired of seeing their bosses succeed. You will root for them and laugh out loud. This is a great choice for fans of The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger

Diet To Die For by Joan Hess is a “mystery” but what makes it most enjoyable are the characters. Claire Malloy owns a bookstore and Karon, her teenage daughter, is definitely a teenager. It’s murder but this book will give you a constant ‘feed’ of laughter and levity. There is no need for deep thought or pressure with this book. This has long been a personal favorite of mine.

Fat Dad by Jim Gaffigan A perfect light hearted memoir this book will make you laugh out loud. Jim Gaffigan, of stand-up comedy fame, happens to know how to write. That was actually my first “meeting” with Gaffigan, and I’ve been a huge fan ever since. No one knows how to poke fun at food, dining and food better than Jim Gaffigan.
