Marc Leslie Lefebvre had been writing since he was thirteen and found his mother’s Underwood typewriter gathering dust in a closet. He started writing at the age of fifteen and his first story was published in 1992, the same year he graduated from university. Under the name Mark Leslie, he has published more than a dozen full-length books. He has written a number of nonfiction studies for Dundurn, Canada’s largest independent publisher. He also writes fiction (mostly thrillers and horror) and edits fiction anthologies, most recently as a regular editor for WMG Publishing’s Fiction River anthology series. That same year, Mark saw his first stories in print, began working as a part-time salesman in the book industry, and was bitten by the bookselling bug. He has worked in nearly every type of bookstore (independent, chain, large format, online, academic, and digital). He thrives on innovation, especially when it comes to digital publishing, and enjoys interacting with the many people who make the book industry so dynamic. Between 2011 and 2017, Mark served as director of identity and author relations for Kobo, where he led the creation of Kobo Writing Life, a free and easy-to-use writer-publisher-friendly platform. directly to directories. Global Kobo in 190 countries. By the end of 2016, Kobo Writing Life had established itself as the #1 global source of weekly sales for Kobo, and was responsible for 1 in 4 e-books sold exclusively in the English-speaking region. Mark speaks professionally in the United States and Canada, the United Kingdom, and throughout Europe, specializing in the advancements in digital publishing and the broad and unique opportunities available to authors and publishers.

These Changes Are Great, I Wonder When They Are Changing The Patch Name To Chains Of Technique And Fran Townsend’s Wiki To ‘well Chosen Rituals’ Advocate. Can’t Wait!

Ugh Waste of time. If you want to hear a Canadian comedian lecture you about BLM and American politics and scream about how great he is, this is the book for you. It’s a waste of time and almost full of readymade pipeline. Not worth $6 at all

Hold on to your pens, comrades. This book will open your eyes to the magic of Wiedeling – an author who has published many online and physical stores. It is well organized and written in clear prose, making it easy to use as a reference. But I recommend reading it cover to cover because there are many gems hidden within. Lefebvre explains the advantages and disadvantages of the practice, starting with defining the meaning of the word “broad step.” It explains in detail where you can sell your book, and an entire section is dedicated to the library. It’s great to have all of this information in one place from a writer who has been a big part of the publishing industry for decades. I recommend Wide for the Win to all writers

Great overview for bulk sales. If you are active in the publishing industry, this book is a must. Even if you don’t currently sell widely, it’s important to stay up to date with what’s happening in the industry.

3.5 stars As someone planning to expand in the next few months, this is a great and comprehensive introduction to all platforms. But the. The first 50-60% is bloated and most of it is vague and/or unrelated to the main theme of the book. The author begins to edit his personal stories, which are too long to convey a single point. There is also a lot of repetition of key points which seems frustrating. I also wish the author would have included more voice-over quotes or interviews with other great authors to make her points more fleshed out, rather than Erin Wright (whom I find very interesting and a gift to the community). Full disclosure: I’ve skipped a few parts that don’t apply to me right now, but for reference, ie. audiobooks or some obscure market.

Flyers And Playlists Of Radio Show

This book gave me so many ideas on how to build my writing business. I never thought. It is written in the tone of a conversation, and the author gives many examples for the interest of the reader. A great addition to a writer’s tools for success.

I always learn something.A great book for any writer facing the confusing landscape of today’s publishing world. Mark gives you the big picture of the different ways to market your book. Read and apply! I have read some of his books. With all of them, I’m doing something before putting the book down and going back to the book. This book is no different! Read, absorb, apply, read again. Highly recommended.

The author has years of experience in independent publishing and I believe he is now the head of Draft2Digital, so he knows his stuff. He really doesn’t like Amazons and it shows. That said, there is a lot of good information here, especially the libraries section, the various librarians (acquisitions, references, events) and helpful advice on how to approach them. Good explanation of acronyms too. This book will be useful for any self-published writer.

The Good Parts Perhaps I should have had different expectations from this book. I found it useful, but it convinced me to stay with Amazon instead of expanding. Contrary to the author’s intention. I wanted to read a book that would guide me in making a decision, otherwise I would have been given a lot of information, sometimes too much. The author is very knowledgeable and an author/publisher. I think the second edition would be useful for copying a fair amount of information into an application or online resource and adding a useful “decision tree” that guides writers like me through a series of steps. I think there is an element of evangelicalism in this broad decision that is not supported by the arguments of most authors.

I can’t say enough good things about this book. Mark created the latest book for WIDE Publishing. This is the first book I’ve read that made me think about publishing widely as a mindset rather than a long-term strategy. I am a writer who has just started publishing a large collection of novels. I know very little about this subject. I continued to learn and Mark’s book gave me thousands of ideas to experiment with. If I had to sum up this book in one world, I’d choose “maybe.” That’s what Wide for the Win is really about. When a writer stops for a moment and thinks about the whole world outside of the Amazon, the possibilities are endless. And the world is big enough to welcome those willing to take the leap and start thinking BIG. Highly recommended.

It’s no exaggeration to say that if you’re an author yourself, this might be the only book you need. When the author sent me a copy, I immediately asked, “Why is this book so long? This thesis seems easy enough.” It’s true that this thesis is very simple to understand, but this book contains just the facts you need to spread your wings as a freelance writer. All the pros of spreading your wings and the cons of being exclusive, this book is everything you need to know. covers and analyzes each important book
